Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. Isn't it? (and isn't that something Jobs was quoted as saying?) As long as Apple finds a way to "innovate" and please consumers (and leave us prosumers in the dark with smaller laptops & buggier versions of OS X), Google, Nokia, Lenovo, etc. will always be flattered and copy everything Apple makes to create some sales.

oh dear. They've totally run out of ideas. A higher spec'd iPad Mini... Great. Lets see how this thing runs. This is closer to cloning than the Samsung devices.

Not Front Page news

I'm sure there will be some that disagree with me. But I feel like there needs to be a Back Page for news like this, what Google and Microsoft are up to that has nothing to do with anything Apple etc.

Either that or give us some dang control over what we see on the Front Page so we can ignore this kind of stuff for ourselves

Apple will be fine... but I'm just annoyed at not having a legitimate competitor. I'm surprised they can't come up with a different compelling design to give consumers choice?

Seriously, if Nokia tries to do a copy of an Apple device, it's just a worse version. But if they find a way to do something unique, then they could possibly find a different market they're better serving than Apple.

Uninspired and annoying.

So many companies are jealous of Apple's design.

As long as it doesn't magically starts to sell heaps I doubt apple is even going to bother. It will kill itself

With all due respect to Charles Colton...
Imitation is the most insincere form of flattery imaginable.
As Jonny said: this is an insult to the engineers who give up time with their families to create something beautiful and new... just to see a second group of engineers knock something out in a small fraction of the time, by using Apple's team's work as a direct template.
The Scumbag Steve meme comes to mind.

Maybe Apple should rethink its relationship with FoxConn. Nokia and Lenovo surely got their "inspiration" from somewhere.

i seriously hope they will be sued for this. china/microsoft/samsung/nokia/etc.

they won't make any money with this anyway.

Also, Nokia is just licensing their name. They aren't making this at all. They didn't even design it.

This year Samsung's phones have reverted to imitation of Apple styling, just as the lawsuits are winding down. It seems that the issue of copying form is done with.

Macrumors anyone? Why do these things continue to penetrate this website?

Because it looks exactly like an iPad mini, and is being made by Foxconn. It's relevant to an Apple enthusiast. If you're not interested, scroll on past.
