Nomad today introduced a new version of its popular titanium Stratos band that's designed for the Apple Watch. The new version features a limited edition icy blue glow colorway, providing a subtle glow-in-the-dark effect that can be seen between the titanium links of the band.

Available for $189, the Stratos Apple Watch band combines the look of titanium with the comfort of fluoroelastomer. The band features outer links made from metal injection molded Grade 4 titanium, paired with molded FKM material on the interior.

The fluoroelastomer connects each titanium link, offering flexibility and comfort that's unavailable with traditional metal bands, including Apple's own stainless steel Link Bracelet. The FKM material peeks through the rounded titanium links, adding visual interest and space for ventilation to bolster moisture evaporation and breathability.

Nomad makes the Stratos band in Silver and Black titanium, with black, ultra orange, volt, and icy blue glow FKM color options. The latter is the new color, and we were able to try out the band before it launched. Nomad's imagery largely depicts the band in the dark with a rich, blue glow coming from the fluoroelastomer underlayer, but the actual blue shade in the light is much subtler. The color is a soft, muted blue that's close to white from a distance.

Exposing the band to sunlight or bright light produces a glow effect, but it's faint. The FKM material of the Stratos band is beneath the titanium and against the wrist, so it sees little light exposure. Light is needed for the glow to work, which means the overall result is subdued. For the most part, expect the band to look more white than blue between the links, but you will see thin lines of the blue color peeking through the links in the dark.

The band is comfortable on the wrist, and it's simple to remove links with the included tool to get a custom fit. The magnetic clasp is easy to close, and it only opens when squeezing the sides of the buckle, so it should remain secure. The clasp can pinch the skin when it's being closed, so be wary of that when putting the band on.

Having the fluoroelastomer underneath the titanium makes for a softer feel on the wrist than just titanium alone, and Nomad's band options are far cheaper than Apple's similar bands.

You can order the Icy Blue Glow Stratos Band from the Nomad website for $189.

Quite a Tron look , I Would love a little glow like that on my Apple watch but not at that price.

Have seen decent reviews on Nomad for items like cases, but have seen less than glowing reviews for the earlier versions of this band, as well as some others.

Quite a few 3 star (and lower) reviews for the lug fitment. Strange as I would believe the engineering for such things would be well known by now.

I really like Nomad as a brand, but that particular line of bands is literally just a generic Ali Express band that you can get for $30 (maybe $50 on amazon) with their logo on it. Not a dupe... the same thing. Very low effort and frankly a little insulting to charge that much.

I bought the non-titanium version of the band a while back. It barely fluoresces even under a very strong UV lamp. It certainly never gets anywhere near the blue shown.

I did buy the the orange and titanium version of this and I like the fit and feel but keep going back to just a plain orange or lime green band from Nomad which I really like

This has been debunked several times. Nomad’s CAD files were stolen from its Chinese manufacturing partner, whereupon the market got flooded by dupes. The dupes typically utilize a much lower grade of titanium, employ a weaker magnetic clasp, and are more difficult to resize. Nomad has its own issues but it definitely isn’t drop-shipping generic bands.

I have the Icy blue glow (limited) on their Rocky point band. During the day it’s mostly white with a very subtle blue hue (less blue than most pictures).
I love this band but it stains quickly, I’m wondering if the limited part is related to the less durable nature of the bright color

I bought a Stratos a while back and the lugs were practically popping out of the Apple Watch. Nomad sent me two replacements, each worse than the one before. Eventually they just refunded my money and informed me that their engineers are working on a fix. What’s crazy to me is that Apple hasn’t changed this mechanism once in ten years, and Nomad’s been making bands for that entire time. I have no idea how they’re messing this up in 2026.

That’s incredibly expensive for a watch band. It’s one thing when Apple does it but come on.
I got mine before Christmas for about $150 with a promo code I had. Got the natural titanium with the orange. It's one of the best looking and most comfortable bands I've ever owned. It pairs so nicely with my natural titanium Ultra 2, matching the titanium finish perfectly, although the orange is a bit more vibrant than the orange accents used on the watch. It perfects fits the vibe of not too dressy, not too sporty. It looks really sharp on the wrist, and it stands out somewhat if you get a brighter orange inside color like I did, very unique and haven't seen a band like it. Or you can go black and have it be subtle.

Unlike most metal bands, it doesn't tear my arm hair, and is really comfortable and surprisingly breathable with the inner rubber lining. The clasp mechanism is really thin so there isn't any uncomfortable bulge, and with the magnets it makes it easy to put on since it disconnects into two pieces.

My only gripe is there is a little more play than I would like where it connects to the watch. It's not terrible and it is still secure, but it's not good either. It's like it needs to seat slightly deeper into the watch, as the corners poke out slightly. When you grab it and manually seat it deeper, it aligns nearly perfectly. There is also a little bit of side to side slop. So I think they need to make some small adjustments to some of the rubber bumpers and snap points where it slides inside.

I give it a solid 9/10, would buy again. If they tweak that connection point and tone down the orange slightly to better match the orange watch accents, it would be perfect.

I hate that I can't buy any new bands or other items after reading any thread anywhere, when haters pop in to decimate the products.

I have the Black Titanium with Orange and its stunning, and has held up great since getting it, with zero scratches. Dang I am SO tempted for this blue especially with it having a glow at night.

If they allowed you to try it out before launch, and in the article you describe how the actual appearance differs significantly from the marketing photos, why didn't the article include any real life photos from when the author tried it out? Just curious as I was hoping to see the real life photos here.
