I hate that I can't buy any new bands or other items after reading any thread anywhere, when haters pop in to decimate the products.
If you like it, get it while it’s fresh. It will look cool on you because you will be an early adopter and will catch people’s attention.

the exact same band is available on Aliexpress for $13.26, I'm convinced they are coming from the same exact factory that produces for Nomad.

I really like Nomad as a brand, but that particular line of bands is literally just a generic Ali Express band that you can get for $30 (maybe $50 on amazon) with their logo on it. Not a dupe... the same thing. Very low effort and frankly a little insulting to charge that much.
Not true. The design docs were leaked in China and now the Chinese are making exact dupes. But it is an original Nomad design. The Nomad is very slightly different and uses higher quality materials. I've seen side by side comparisons on Reddit. Still, the Chinese dupes are very close and the real ones are not worth the extra. Actually the connector on the dupes is a better fit lol.

First they need to fix the “loose lug” issue. The quality control on the Stratos has been almost comically bad. Just run a search on Reddit or YouTube.
MacRumors doesn’t actually care if this stuff is overpriced junk. All they care about is getting affiliate revenue.

This has been debunked several times. Nomad’s CAD files were stolen from its Chinese manufacturing partner, whereupon the market got flooded by dupes. The dupes typically utilize a much lower grade of titanium, employ a weaker magnetic clasp, and are more difficult to resize. Nomad has its own issues but it definitely isn’t drop-shipping generic bands.
Yeah I’ve bought many Nomad straps and many Amazon Chinese knockoffs. They aren’t even close. Same goes for the Amazon Chinese Apple strap knockoffs. Buy once cry once…or cry many times but I never regret buying the nicer more expensive product.

I have questions about that FKM material, like how it wears, and if it's going to be gross or coming off in a couple years? If so, it seems not really designed for long term use.

The Chinese companies copied their design

Apple uses FKM for their bands. For me it's better than the silicon knockoffs. It doesn't irritate my skin and doesn't feel weird.

As an Apple Watch Ultra owner, who's buying this?
I'm very tempted to get the blue one for something different. Been using the Apple black milanese loop for over a year and it's the only band I use these days, but I like the look of the blue one.

If they allowed you to try it out before launch, and in the article you describe how the actual appearance differs significantly from the marketing photos, why didn't the article include any real life photos from when the author tried it out? Just curious as I was hoping to see the real life photos here.
Because this is an advertisement not a news story (hence the affiliate links) so they have to tightly use the wording and images in the copy they was sent from Nomad.
