Nomad today announced the launch of the Leather Mag Wallet for iPhone, which includes an integrated Tracking Card that works with Apple's Find My app.

The Leather Mag Wallet attaches to the back of a MagSafe iPhone using a magnetic connection, and it serves as an alternative to Apple's own Leather Wallet with MagSafe. Nomad made the wallet from vegetable-tanned Horween leather that will develop a unique patina over time.

Nomad's Mag Wallet is able to hold up to four standard credit cards, and it connects to Find My so if it comes off of the iPhone and is lost, it can be found with the Find My app. Find My network integration is included, so if you are out of range, it will be able to connect to Apple products owned by others to relay its location. Find My also includes features for playing a sound and getting a notification when the wallet is left behind.

There is a rechargeable battery inside and the Mag Wallet can be charged using any Qi or MagSafe charger. The battery lasts for up to five months. The wallet can be attached to any MagSafe iPhone or iPhone in a MagSafe case, and it comes in black and brown colors.

The Leather Mag Wallet can be purchased from the Nomad website for $79.

Doesn't the iPhone already come with an app that holds your credit cards, and doesn't the iPhone already work with "Find My"?

What next? They make a carry sack to hold your backpack?
You know you can put other cards in it, like say., a security card for an office building, or maybe even actual cash? You know, things that can't go into your iPhone. I know it's hard to believe, but some people have items that can't be stored digitally in a phone but fit in a wallet.

Is it really that difficult to think outside of your own little world, people?

Yes because phones never die, every place takes Apple Pay, and all states allow digital ID

I want this case. I already use a wallet like this but I’ve lost the wallet before when I removed it and was careless

This is…actually perfect for me. I love Nomad’s 15PM leather case (got one on massively deep discount from Verizon) and as much as I liked Apple’s own…the failure of the Find My implementation on those made them fairly useless if they get detached.

Is this a lot of money for a glorified mini wallet? Yes. Am I willing to spend it if this works as advertised and (as a bonus) matches the color of my current case? …dang, I’m close to it.

There's absolutely no incentive or reason for anybody to purchase this over Apple's (imo), which is $20 cheaper and doesn't ever need to be charged.
This. And if you really need a Find My tracker, use one of the thin ones in Amazon, I use one by Anker and I have to charge it each 3 or 4 months with my minimalist wallet by Gucci.

There is, actually. With Apple’s wallet, you only know where it was *removed*. With this one, it’s almost the same location tracking as a AirTag. Yes, they make credit card sized Find My-enabled devices you can put into wallets and such, but Apple’s wallet already only holds 3 cards, so that eats a slot right there.

Nomad’s holds up to 4 cards, with the Find My ability built in.

Not paying $80 without ACTUAL precision tracking personally, but you do you.
