Doesn't the iPhone already come with an app that holds your credit cards, and doesn't the iPhone already work with "Find My"?

What next? They make a carry sack to hold your backpack?
Not every store takes apple wallet.
The US is particularly bad for this. (Walmart, lots of small older businesses, etc).
Most in the US also need to carry an ID (driver license).
Only a few states offer an electronic ID, and whether or not the electronic ID is actually useful as ID is debatable.
Most of our ATMs still need the physical card, so that's also a thing.
Here in Mexico, a good number of tap to pay terminals don't actually work as such and we have to use the physical card anyway.

I use this kind of thing all the time.
I don’t carry credit cards any more they’re in my phone, so all I do is use this for cash and ID.
Much nicer than using a wallet.
With Find My it’s even better.
Since it’s leather, not that Apple junk material, it looks great and probably feels amazing.

There's absolutely no incentive or reason for anybody to purchase this over Apple's (imo), which is $20 cheaper and doesn't ever need to be charged.

This one has bluetooth. So while the Apple version only reports where it was last removed, this one actively pings on the network to update its rough current location.

Plus, this one is actual leather. If you're into that.

why would anyone carry credits on a phone wallet? you lose the phone or most likely someone snatches , you lose phone and cards
I have a wallet case. Love it. I have ONE item (the phone with wallet case) to remember to bring out with me and ONE thing to keep close and safe when out. Sure, it could get stolen, but the way I handle it makes that VERY unlikely. Sure it would be a hassle to replace the cards or the phone but not an overly big hassle relative to the extreme rarity of it happening. Considering the odds of me losing it are such that I doubt it will ever happen in one lifetime it seems the every day convenience is worth it.

That's not a wallet. That's an ugly little credit card holder that leaves a card visible.

This is a wallet:

Well, I suppose if you feel a need to carry cash and use several cards. I don't so why carry something so bulky. But I agree with not using one that leaves a card visible. I use a Bellroy wallet case and the cards are 100% hidden and it doesn't resemble a wallet case without careful inspection.

Most likely, a user has left it in one of a few known places. Being able to confirm it’s IN one of those places (secured and accessible by them) prevents them from having to call the credit card company to cancel cards. That has happened to people far more times than realizing it’s stolen.

$20 more and you can still find your wallet when it’s detached. With the Apple wallet, you’re out of luck if you don’t remember where it came off once it’s detached
It’ll tell you where it detached… it just won’t tell you where it is NOW. :) So, it MIGHT be next to that tree you were standing next to when you looked up a constellation, might not!
>someone else already made this point, you may disregard. :D

Well, if it works like an AirTag it will (usually) tell you were it is NOW. AirTags don't just check in with your own phone but with most any iPhone that happens to be close. It's like all iPhones are part of a giant mesh network (sort of) for AirTags. They report the location to Apple's cloud and your phone can see that.

Not paying $80 without ACTUAL precision tracking personally, but you do you.
First you make a false equivalence between Nomad's wallet and Apple's:

There's absolutely no incentive or reason for anybody to purchase this over Apple's (imo), which is $20 cheaper and doesn't ever need to be charged.
Then you move goalposts by complaining about lack of ultra wideband. Are you well? Do you know what "you do you" means?

from their website:
  • Does Leather Mag Wallet support precision finding?
Leather Mag Wallet can track items up to 150ft away, but it doesn't have the Ultra Wide Band technology found in AirTags and therefore doesn't support precision tracking.
Link me if I'm wrong.
I don't believe there's a single 3rd party product out there that supports precision find (UWB), only Apple's AirTags do.

I have the Bellroy version of this (called the “Mod Phone case” or something). The form factor sucks, with the card wallet acting like a camel’s hump. The entire thing is awkward to hold, so I don’t even bother with the wallet anymore.

I took off the wallet, and the phone case just feels like a normal case. No big deal. It cost me $20 to get the card holder section.

Bellroy’s doesn’t have integrated “Find My”, but it also doesn’t need to be charged.

Exactly, what a confusing product....

I constantly use find my for my AirTags and Apple stuff, it's great.
spoken like someone who doesn’t use an Apple MagSafe wallet I presume? The Find My wallet in its current iteration only pings you if the wallet has been detached for 1-2 minutes so if it falls off at a cafe, on the street, etc you have no way of knowing where it is, just that it fell off.

I was referring to MacRumors, NOT their website. As I said,..Without UWB precision finding, it makes this wallet absolutely useless.
