Exactly. I have a basic wallet like this and I use it all the time detached from the phone. It slips into the front pocket nicely. Really it only gets attached to my phone when I’m sitting in a restaurant waiting for the waitress to return with my credit card (god bless America).Ever consider a scenario where your wallet isn’t attached to your phone?
Since it's attached to the phone you could use Find My to just...find your phone.
Doesn't precision finding only work with AirTags? No mention of no precision finding? No precision finding,..no thanks.
I’ve only been able to hold two cards in my Apple wallets. I bought a second after the first wore out. I could force a third card in but it was a struggle to get cards out so not practical at checkout. There is, actually. With Apple’s wallet, you only know where it was *removed*. With this one, it’s almost the same location tracking as a AirTag. Yes, they make credit card sized Find My-enabled devices you can put into wallets and such, but Apple’s wallet already only holds 3 cards, so that eats a slot right there.
Nomad’s holds up to 4 cards, with the Find My ability built in.
I do have two leather Apple-made wallets, one with Find My and one without. Three cards was tight but didn’t make me concerned. Tried four once and it took five minutes to wedge them out again.I’ve only been able to hold two cards in my Apple wallets. I bought a second after the first wore out. I wanted to like the Apple wallet so bad but I was limited to one card plus my driver’s license. For the price it was cheaply made and the lack of any Find My support was inexcusable especially since it would be added to your devices on Find My.
This might be the wallet Apple should have made. If it can hold two credit cards plus a driver’s license it’s actually usable for me. Find My and real leather is something that should be included for this price.
Made out of leather and with Find My?Look around on Amazon and you can find similar products at 1/4 the price that work great.
Reviews are pretty mixed on the one you shared durability-wise, plus it isn’t leather.Look around on Amazon and you can find similar products at 1/4 the price that work great.
Apple doesn’t make theirs in leather anymore, right? Just the terrible FineWoven stuff that most people can’t stand. Also, as others have mentioned, apples only shows you the last location when removed. This will continue tracking. There's absolutely no incentive or reason for anybody to purchase this over Apple's (imo), which is $20 cheaper and doesn't ever need to be charged
If it helps, as far as I’m aware only AirTags themselves have precision finding. If this had precision finding I would very likely get it. I lost my current Apple MagSafe wallet in my home and without precision finding it took me days to find it.
OK boomer. That's not a wallet. That's an ugly little credit card holder that leaves a card visible.
This is a wallet:

Gen X. Now get off my lawn.OK boomer.
The reason these wallets support Find My is because they’re always falling off because they’re just held on with magnets.Since it's attached to the phone you could use Find My to just...find your phone.
LOL, I gotcha - gen x here too.Gen X. Now get off my lawn.
But seriously, there's FUNCTION in the classic wallet design. What else am I going to keep in a back pocket anyway? And mine is leather, with RFID shield layer, has places for a half dozen credit cards, drivers license, health insurance card, business cards, and 3 separate pockets for cash, including a zippered pocket that's handy for keeping an extra hundred just in case. And I've even stuck an AirTag in that, because I hate it when I misplace my wallet.
