That is a nice stand & I can see the appeal for someone, especially if you are looking to save a few $$$. But you still have to pack a cable in addition to that stand. With the Nomad one, all you need is the cable. For one bag travel, it's nice to squeeze out whatever extra stuff you can.

But that is a nice stand & I can see why some people would rather save the $30 and get that.
That Nomad cable is practically a wireless charger permanently stuck with a USB cable. It won't save much space vs the product the OP listed + cable. Maybe a few milli-liters.

To each their own. Like I said, that is a nice little stand, but if I'm going to pay $70 to buy a stand which will also require me to pack a cable & I can spend $30 more to just buy a cable that can eliminate the stand altogether, for me that's worth it.

I can completely understand others coming to a different conclusion, but a little bit of space & weight here, a little bit there & it all adds up (for me at least).

$100 for a cable? There are at least 100 different dual & triple charger stands for half that (or less). And they reduce cable clutter, they don't increase it!

You can get the Mophie Qi2 3-in-1 charger on Amazon for $99 and if you have to charge a USB-C device, you can just use the cable it comes with for that purpose.

The best solution would be that Apple makes change to Watch charger as a separate puck with female USB-C port. With which I can carry around the small puck along with my universal USB-C cables and be able to charge any devices I want.

Simple concept, and Apple would love to make smaller packaging, right? This will help.

I think this Nomad design is poor, unusually for Nomad. If I plug this into a wall outlet, the watch is then hanging off a magnetic puck which isn't really that magnetic. My Ultra 2 with strap is heavy enough that it would likely fall off. Unless Nomad's puck is REALLY magnetic. If it's anything like Apple's puck, the magnets are mostly for alignment, not for support. The watch charging puck needs to be at the other end of the cable so that I can put the thing on a table or something like that, along with the phone.

Nice product. Will be very portable and convenient to use. However the price is too high. Cannot justify paying $100 for it. Not sure how many will be buying this.

Add a passthrough output on the other side, and you have exactly this product, but with a replaceable cable. That would be useful in case the cable gets damaged or you need a different length.

I recently bought this cheap little gem for travel:

It turns a single usb cable into a Magsafe and Watch charger at the smallest size and lowest weight I could find. I don't know why there aren't more similar designs out there. It's so convenient.

Well yes a passthrough port would be even better. But we're talking about Apple first party, supplied in-box, original accessory here. I wouldn't think Apple will go with that contraption because Apple is all about clean, minimalist design.

Very poor… for the travelers examples mentioned here: sometimes outlet connectors available at hotels and rooms are behind something (like the night tables at the bed’s sides) or at a quite inconvenient place for a “vertically aligned” brick.
Many Apple Watches will fall behind many tables or the puck side will be hitting things.

Oh god yes, this please. Anker makes a Watch charging puck with a male USB-C connector on the side (presumably for plugging directly into their external batteries - a terrible idea from a structural standpoint), and I've long wished they'd make the same thing but with a female USB-C port instead, so that I could easily connect it to any one of a number of different USB-C cables in the mine, car, etc.

That is actually great, thanks for the share. The price I find ridiculously low for the convenience it offers… is it too plastic-y?

Why put the Watch charger at the AC end instead of close to the USB? Assuming you plug your charger into a wall, you'll have to bend down to pick up your Watch - and I guess the magnet is strong enough to hold the Watch vertically?

I bought something similar from Aliexpress for $7.... It even has a better design because the watch charging puck is smaller, more streamlined. has USB C, fast charging for both devices, braided cable.... and has been working flawlessly for months. Charging $100 for this is absolute insanity and they should be ashamed.

Can you not plug the other end into the wall?

The $100 cable is insane. But people should also stop posting anything from the likes of LISEN or XI SHU or whatever other Amazon popup alpha-nonsense fly by night Chinese electronic companies. I've stopped buying anything on Amazon from those sorts of companies. Nomad, no way. But gotta be a reputable name brand of some sort.

That is exactly what you're meant to do from what i gather.

It is odd the way they show it plugged in though. Would be a huge mistake if something prevents the other end to provide power.

Like others, I like the product and would use it when traveling, but not at this price point. I’ll just pack up my nightstand charger.

I've been wanting a cable exactly like this for years, but it will not add $100 of value to my life.

Also, I would want it to have a few inches of cord after the watch charger part.

What an utterly stupid product. If the watch charging puck had a female USB C port instead of a permanent cable, it would have some merit.
