The best solution would be that Apple makes change to Watch charger as a separate puck with female USB-C port. With which I can carry around the small puck along with my universal USB-C cables and be able to charge any devices I want.

Simple concept, and Apple would love to make smaller packaging, right? This will help.
Even better, make it with 2 USB-C ports at opposite sides for pass-through charging.

Nomad today announced the launch of a unique cable that isn't quite like anything else on the market. The Universal Cable for Apple Watch includes a built-in Apple Watch fast charging puck along with two USB-C connectors.

Priced at $100, the 1.5 meter cable is able to charge an Apple Watch and another device like an iPhone or iPad at the same time. It is a 100W USB-C PD cable, so it provides a small amount of power (8W) for the Apple Watch with the rest (92W) distributed to the other device that's plugged in. 100W is enough to charge even Apple's 16-inch MacBook Pro, as long as you have an appropriate power adapter.

The Apple Watch end of the cable can be plugged in at a power adapter or it can be used for device charging, so there are two layout options to choose from. Apple's most recent AirPods can charge from an Apple Watch charger, which adds more versatility. Note that transfer speeds are limited to USB 2 because the cable is designed for charging rather than data transfer.

The cable has a double-braided Kevlar outer weave and it uses electroplated metal connectors for durability. There's also an integrated silicone cable tie to keep the cable neat even when traveling.

The Universal Cable for Apple Watch can be purchased from the Nomad website for $100.

It makes Pro Stand looking cheap.

One interesting part is how it manage to deliver different voltages for Mac and Apple watch.

There's always something like this for $20: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D4KFCN1R

But then there are stories like the ones shared in this thread about non-MFI Apple Watch chargers: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/apple-warns-against-non-certified-apple-watch-chargers.2413848/

I originally bought a super cheap LISEN multi-charger, but I got cold feet when it came to using it for my watch. I ended up getting one of these while they were on sale: https://www.anker.com/products/a25m...ion-magsafe-compatible?variant=44057193316502

Even on sale it was at the high end of what I'd want to pay for something in this category, but it's Anker and MFI, and I haven't had any issues with it so far.

Add a passthrough output on the other side, and you have exactly this product, but with a replaceable cable. That would be useful in case the cable gets damaged or you need a different length.

I recently bought this cheap little gem for travel:

It turns a single usb cable into a Magsafe and Watch charger at the smallest size and lowest weight I could find. I don't know why there aren't more similar designs out there. It's so convenient.
I've just purchased one of these after seeing your message, thanks

$100 USD for a cable!? An portable EV charger is very "competitively priced"~ !!

Very poor… for the travelers examples mentioned here: sometimes outlet connectors available at hotels and rooms are behind something (like the night tables at the bed’s sides) or at a quite inconvenient place for a “vertically aligned” brick.
Many Apple Watches will fall behind many tables or the puck side will be hitting things.
The watch end of the cable can be on the "phone" side.. it doesn't need to be at the power brick

  • What power sources can I use?
You can connect either end of the cable to any USB-C power source, including a wall adapter, iPhone, iPad, MacBook, or any other USB-C device.

But wait.. I was told everything was going to go down in price in 2025 after Jan? Diesel is up, chargers are up.. groceries are not down... wait a minute... what is going on?

Who are these "users" who are buying products like this for $100? There must be someone for a company to produce said product. I guess they are not the forum type and care to keep their self anomoyous lol.

That is a nice stand & I can see the appeal for someone, especially if you are looking to save a few $$$. But you still have to pack a cable in addition to that stand. With the Nomad one, all you need is the cable. For one bag travel, it's nice to squeeze out whatever extra stuff you can.

But that is a nice stand & I can see why some people would rather save the $30 and get that.
It comes with a very nice zippered travel pouch that holds the stand, plug, and cable rather compactly. The stand is very solid and folds up to be quite small. It is honestly the most impressed I’ve been by a charger yet.

Looks like someone didn’t read the article with the required care! (walks myself out of this room)

And thanks.

You can buy the Anker 10k power bank with a built in cable and Apple Watch charger on for way less than this. Often on sale for around £55.

Ohhh this looks good! This one?

Does it plug into the wall to charge via the same cable as it supplies power out? Or is power in via another cable?
