Not a good week for sports

Nowhere. Because it's a fruitless endeavor to back up Barry these days. People have let an ax-grinding media decide for them; not that Barry's personality quirks make him terribly likable or endearing anyway.
Bonds has still not been indicted for anything. Looks like the current grand jury exploring possible perjury charges is going to expire without doing anything (though it may still be extended again, IIRC), and the IRS so far hasn't done anything about the allegations of tax evasion. I still think that investigation is the canary in the coal mine to really keep an eye on.
I should by all accounts be thrilled by Bonds closing on the record, but the cloud of unchecked hatred, the still-present possibility of indictment(s), and the Giants' generally losing ways has sapped all of the excitement away for me.
This will all be a mute point in a few years anyways once A-Rod breaks Barry's record.
But Im sure you could earn the money with skills not by being in a fad pop band.

I should have said, where is SayHey period. Haven't seen him in the MLB thread forever.
He's probably just as depressed as me by the Giants this year: horrid offense, freak injuries, Barry Zito's huge contract and extremely mediocre performance, Bonds' extremely up-and-down performance, Matt Cain's crazy 3-11 record despite pitching pretty well, Brian Sabean's contract extension ensuring several more years of dreary sameness...
thoughts on this:
1. alot of people that back bonds say that this is a big revenge scheme by the media to get bonds due to not being nice to the media, when in reality, he's nice to fans. they try to use the roids case to make bonds look bad and one of them said the game of shadows was propaganda against bonds. that's not me, that's them. i still want proof he used, but we don't know. heck, arod could be the dirty one and bonds could be clean...we don't know.
2. vick is a grade a loser, and one of my friends in atlanta said he never liked him since day one, because he knew he was a loser. couple other friends in the area who used to back vick and one of them try to be vick have now turned 180 on him and want to lock him up now. this guy has the worst judgement ever. disgusting.
3. the nba could be getting heat for this that the games could be fixed. bad for nba.
but it's been a bad week for atlanta sports fans, bonds going after aaron's record (he's probably hated in atlanta most of all), vick in trouble, swept by the reds. yikes.

I am not a Bonds fan, however I think what he has done is amazing. The man has the quickest swing I have seen. He turns on the ball so fast I just love watching him hit. I am not going to go into the steroid business because I think its wasting time. He has earned this record and I don't see how anyone can take that away from him. If he did in fact take steroids well.... he will have to live with that guilt.

1. Bonds is taking the heat because he's about to break the record.If he had 300 HR's now,it would be a non issue.The owners and Selig looked the other way for years.Now they're reaping what they sowed..
2.Vick has always been one of the,if not the,most overrated player in the NFL. For a guy who never won anything (big game,championship etc),he was made out to be the second coming.Now he's pretty much done.
3. If it's proven that an NBA ref threw a game he bet on,oh man,is that gonna get good..Not what the NBA needed...Glad I saw the days of Larry/Magic first hand...
