Lol. It sucks the 2G [red] Nano can't play video, it's the perfect shade. Plus yeah, you feel like you're doing some good by going for the red product, but I just couldn't do it this generation! Got an iPod touch instead :( Might pick up a "red" Shuffle as a stocking filler.

Don't you live neaar an Apple Store, or somewhere similar? Always a good idea to get a hands on look at such products if possible.

...apart from make a [red] product that's more easily classed as purple/pink.

I have the 2G 8GB [red] Nano... now THAT'S red!

yeah, the 2G is much nicer. The new one definitely is quite pinkish... too pink if you want red, and too red if you want pink... a really bad choice IMO.

Just have him tell his mates it is "Cherry Blossom Red" and a special Subaru Impreza WRX STi edition or something.

The old (Product)RED nano was a nicer red IMO. It's interesting to note that the (Product)RED website seems to have coloured their font and images more in keeping with the new 'pinker' nano, I'm sure it's changed?? Compare the Amex card from the (Product)RED site to Amex's own site and they're different colours, IMO.

What, in God's name, is wrong with Pink?

nothing, if you like pink. If, however, what you want is red, then getting pink instead could be kind of annoying, don't you think?
