We really getting shafted by the big Apple now.

I really just can't afford to stay within the mobile eco system.

I'm dying a little not gonna lie... £919 for the model I want then £159 for some AirPods again that I want :(

The 128gb 7 plus at 819 costs almost as much as my 12" 128gb iPad Pro... Crazy. I'm thinking i might stick with my iPhone 6 Plus for a little longer... Hard to justify carrying around a 820 device/phone. I may start to keeping my existing purchases for a lot longer.

Do I really need anything the iPhone 7 plus has? Not really. Not even about affording it... Just a crazy price.
I agree the prices are crazy and it's not even the iPhone. It's everything. I'll have to have a good think about it before Friday because £819 for the 7 plus when I have a perfectly good 6S plus is hard to justify.

Has the iPhone SE increased in price too? I seem to remember it being £359 for 16GB a few weeks ago, it's now £379. Is that down to the exchange rate as well?

I was all set to upgrade my iPhone 6 for the iPhone 7 Plus 128GB and the £819 price has made me decide to stick with my iPhone 6 for another year.

Shame as the Jet Black looks sweet!

Is buying a US iPhone a realistic possibility? Will a US iPhone work with a UK sim card? If yes, would there likely be any issues down the like with compatibility?

Haha!

I'll be going for the Jet Black iPhone 7 128Gb. I've been a plus user for a year but I'm finally going back!

I'd be a bit concerned about this disclaimer on Apple's own site:

"The high-gloss finish of the jet black iPhone 7 is achieved through a precision, nine-step anodisation and polishing process. Its surface is equally as hard as other anodised Apple products; however, its high shine may show fine micro-abrasions with use. If you are concerned about this, we suggest you use one of the many cases available to protect your iPhone."

They are essentially admitting this thing is going to scratch up pretty badly.

If this thread is anything to go by sales for iPhone 7 in the uk is not going to be good. I'll buy it next year when it's the one they keep as the "cheaper" alternative to the jet blue with a11 fusion chip blah blah... Also, I love apple products but isn't saying "the best iPhone we've ever made" a bit redundant... Of course it ***** is...

Yeah, sucks but I'm going with it anyway. I'll be keeping it for an another year anyway and it's not like I won't try to keep it in its best shape. Can't keep everything perfect, just loving the new finish.

That is very interesting! Why back? I've decided to go big this time and get the plus!

I remembered you from the UK pre-order thread. Honestly, I like the big screen but it's a little too big at times. I'm still not 100% fully decided.

Apple care? Really not worth it.

I've used it a couple of times, once on a 5 and once on a 5s. I like it for peace of mind, plus after 1 year I give my iPhone's to my parents (I have 2 lines), so I like knowing the hardware is covered for 2 years.

Is it a necessity? Absolutely not, but it's something I always buy with my devices & Macs.

In the UK the hardware is covered for two years without AppleCare by law.
So the only thing your paying for is accidental insurance. My house insurance covers that.

Phone prices aren't the only thing, have you guys seen the price bump on all official accessories?

£35 for a 7 silicone case, £45 for the leather. £39/49 for the 7 plus versions.

£19 for a 1m lightning cable.

£29 for 3.5mm EarPods.

£99 for a battery case.

Also pretty sure the 16GB SE has been bumped by £20 as well.

Goddamn :/

We are funding the SE price drop in the States ($50) lol.
