I actually own a iPhone X that I really like but in some case I would like to have a bigeer screen
Max screen it looks better but I'm not sure if will often fell like the phone is going to fall of my hands
i also often carry my iPhone in jeans front pocket and I don't really have big hands
Any body got a Max version felt it too big and went back to regular size?

No I have the Pro Max and love it. However... prior I had the X. Great phone and great size. Especially if it’s in a pocket.

I just prefer a larger screen. But yeah I will agree the X was easier to carry in my pocket but usually I carry a small sling bag and it has a pocket designed for electronics and it fits my Pro Max great.

I usually dont carry anything in my pockets so size wasn’t an issue. But yeah if I had jeans on and was carrying the Max I can see it feeling bulky.

XS was much easier to hold and handle but the Pro Max is worth it for me due to the extra screen space. I’ve always been a two handed user, regardless of the device size.

Oddly, and this is pure personal observation, I find the Max size feels less unwieldy than the old Plus size.

There is always the 11 to consider, which is bigger than the X but not as big as the max. However the trade off with 11 is the lower resolution, non oled display.

Personally I love bigger displays. I had the 6 plus,6S plus and 7 plus. Had the X for a year and hated how small it was. Went back the max last year and now have the max pro. Even before the 6 plus I had a few Samsung galaxy note phones. I would like an even bigger display.

I'm 5'8", under 140lbs, have very small hands and have always carried my various phones in my front-right trouser pocket. I've always gone for the smaller size (iPhone 4 -> 5 -> 6s -> Xs) but this year I took the risk and upgraded my Xs to an 11 Pro Max. I've been surprised at how easily I adapted.

I never noticed the Xs or previous phones in my pocket and to my surprise I still don't notice even the 11 Pro Max in my pocket. In fact my new Max might even be a bit better than my previous smaller phones because my smaller (less wide) Xs used to tip over in my pocket so that it was at an angle to my leg whereas because the Max is a bit wider in my pocket it doesn't have as much space to tip over so stays lying more parallel with the top of my leg.

Also, because I do have small hands I was already having to use 2 hands to get to the top of the screen on my previous 5.8" Xs so going 2-handed to get to the upper half of the screen on the Max isn't really much of a change of behaviour for me and even on the Max I can still 1-hand at the bottom of the screen to do the home-button up-swipe and get to apps in the dock and the lower few rows.

Given Apple's 14 day no-questions-asked refund policy (at least in the UK) I'd say at least give it a try, you'll never know for sure until you do and maybe will always have that nagging doubt if you don't.

Since the 6 when there has been multiple size options - I’ve gone from 6 Plus, to 6s, 7 Plus, and then X. Always loved the size of the Plus size phones but bugged me a bit in terms of one-handed use.

The X/XS feel amazing in size and weight. I used the 11 Pro Max for 3-4 days and it felt massive at first, but the screen real estate is amazing to have, and surprisingly I got used to the size, even carrying it around.

However I did feel like it was too heavy at times and I cannot use it one handed similar to how I use my X. I find myself relatively often using my X one handed when replying to messages or using the swipe feature for texting when on the go. I was looking up the weight of the 7 Plus, as it was the last larger phone I carried and used for a year, and surprisingly, it weighed in at 188 grams, the same as the 11 Pro (non-Max) which really surprised me. Though even using & handling the 11 Pro briefly (friend of mine has it) the difference in thickness and weight from the X/XS was quite apparent.

I’m definitely going to upgrade to the 11 Pro for the camera, but torn on which size. Tempted by the Max with that large screen, especially for taking and editing photos, though I know at times its going to bug me.

My wife is similarly sized as you. I've noticed the same 2 handed behavior; since her hands are small, any phone was going to be a 2-handed affair. She's happy with her XR and uses both hands - with style and flourish I may add. When she dismisses an app, there's a cheerful sweep of her right hand.

I'm a larger male (6'3" 200lbs) with large hands, so I prefer a 5.8" phone (or 4.7") since I can operate those with one hand.

Personal preference. It’s not pocketable which is an important factor for me personally. I prefer the smaller phone plus the screen is not that much bigger on the max but it’s good to have choices for everyone

When considering if a phone is too big, think about how you’d like carrying it around all day, not just how you’d like using it.
Exactly. I pocket my phones and find the 11 Pro just right for that purpose. I like that I can even carry my 11Pro in a shirt pocket. I don’t watch video Or play games on my phone so no need for a larger display in that regard.

Witch case do you use?

I live in Italy and buying directly from Apple has a big disadvantage, as far as I know, warranty drops to 1 year but if I but at Apple store, any apple reseller in Italy I have 2 year warranty.

Are you sure about this?! EU laws apply similarly to resellers and Apple as far as I know.

It’s really big to me and I hate using it unless I’m on a couch or bed chilling. It’s gangly night cause it’s also heavy.

It’s one of those things you get used to. You’ll eventually adjust your grip and it will become normal. The trade of in size is worth it because of the great battery life.

actually I'm not concerned about battery life and weight
more about usability, especially when you need to grab your phone quickly to take a picture
I mostly use my phone to take picture, read some mail, whatsapp and facebook groups and internet browsing while I'm waiting

I also take out my phone when I go our riding bike on the road and on mountains ( MTB )

As you want to use your phone to take pictures while on a bike, you may want to consider using a Loopy case along with a bigger iPhone -- others have reported using this combination for that very purpose to their marked satisfaction :)...

Before I invested going from X to 11 Pro Max, I was wondering same.

I’m still waiting on my phone on order with Sprint so I can’t tell you positively.

I really wanted a larger display because I do a lot of Hulu, Netflix, DC and soon Apple TV+ and Disney+ streaming on my phone.

So before I put down $1100, I bought my favorite Spigen Slim CS Armour Case ($18) just to get an idea how it felt walking around with it in my pocket. It’s a small investment to make sure I would be OK with or not.

Im pretty sure now it’ll be ok. It’s a little wider and a little longer than my X. I remember when 1st putting my X in my pocket and thought “wow this is big” but I got used to it pretty quickly once I acclimated.

When I tried wearing jeans I was conscience about the case showing it’s definitely got a more to it but not enough where are i can’t sit down with the case in my pocket. Guess it can vary from person to person based on their leg length.

just something to think about if you want to get a first-hand experience sort of....:)

I returned my Max for a Pro and am very happy.

The Max is a wonderful device but I love how easy one handed use is with the 5.8. When the new ones come out I will re-evaluate but for now I am happy.

Owned the 6 Plus, 7 Plus, X, XS Max, XR, XS, 11 Pro and now the 11 Pro Max. Average guy with average hands, Yes the X/XS is easier to handle and pocket, but the XS Max/Pro Max is just as easy. You just learn different ways of doing things. The extra screen space is well worth it and what sold me on returning my 11 Pro was that the 11 Pro Max was actually clearer with text in safari and other places. The extra battery life is a nice bonus as well.

Go to an Apple store and check it out. Plus a case will make it bigger.
