No, ones a phone and one is an egress

The notch on the top is something that took no one by surprise because of the leaks. Love it or hate it, its a design decision.

Yea there were the leaks, but the way the notch has been incorporated into the software has surprised a lot of people.

Videos and games look odd. Only way to "remove" the notch , is to reduce the size of the video. Kind of defeating the point of having a nice big oled panel

It would be naive to think that one of the hardware or software prototypes didn't include the bezel-imitator so many people here are lusting after. They will have tried it and discarded it. There will have been reasons. I'm happy to trust them based on their track record.

So many armchair Jony Ives here.

The notch is nothing. We're obsessing over it because we've got nothing new after all the leaks. I'm sure the reality will be that we'll forget about it after ten minutes and love the screen, camera, form factor etc.

Is the notch based on the way the glass is cut? OR is there actually a screen with pixels that could be used behind the notch?

I think you'll need to put notch to a TV and then you'll see how stupid it looks watching video. Problem is real.

If a TV ever came out with a notch that blocks part of the picture there would be riots in the streets. Ok ok not really, because there are over 20 major TV manufacturers. But seriously it's terrible on a phone.

They should have just put black bars at all times and called it a day. Safari looks even more ridiculous btw (with white bars, lol).

Even one of the pictures they have on their own website show part of the buttons being blocked by the silly notch (see image below). There's a reason why symmetry matters.

And if you want to try to avoid the notch in video, then you get this stellar experience:

Let's not forget, it's $300 more for this experience.

Bezels from 2011. Let's not forget, it's $300 more for this experience.
Notch looks terrible in the game screenshot!
