I didn't sign any contracts. I did do a 12 month installment plan. I got the $150 off plus the free apple pencil through the phone by suggesting that they do so. The manager on the phone told me I was a loyal customer because I had 9 lines on my phone. I figured that it wouldn't hurt to try to hint him to give a discount and it worked out for me. Since I got the Apple pencil for free, I'm thinking of purchasing another one. One to keep in my backpack and one to keep on my desk. :)
Awesome! Great job pulling a deal down. I may have to head down to my local store and see what I can drum up.

For those of you using Notability, is there a way to import a template with ruled lines that are a little larger than the most narrow template? The narrow template is way too narrow and the next one up is way too wide.

You can always just generate your own custom paper using an online site (I like http://incompetech.com/graphpaper/)

Then import that PDF into Notability and write away.

Thank you for the reply.

I've done that but it didn't seem like I could add pages to the same note with the pdf I imported. Maybe I'm missing something...

If you cannot add more pages to it - cannot test it right now, but quite likely that you might not be able to - then what about using Preview over in the Mac to create a PDF of that line-design, but with 3/5/10 pages?

You could then import it, having saved the 'original' in Documents/Goodreader (or something similar) on your iPad - and use it that way. Maybe save a 3, 5, 10 and 20 template - that way you can simply import the version you need into Notability, and delete any pages not used when you are done?

Just a suggestion. Clunky, but could work.

That's a good idea, to make a multi-page "notebook" of custom paper.

Cassady, you read my mind. I made a 6-page, 10-page and 20-page pdf. It will be clunky having to remove pages, but until Notability gets it together with its templates, it will work.

Sorry to jump in late, but GoodNotes is great also, in some ways worse and in some ways better, but they have a great selection of paper templates.

Not just you, this happening to me as well, trying to figure out what's going on and if I do then I'll be sure to pass along.
This is happening when importing a figure box, stickie, clip, etc. the dialog box keeps popping up and will not let you mark up whatever you brought in or when it does the lines are weird.
Regular note taking seems fine but anything brought in can't be edited without the dialog box coming up.
Edit: This is using Notability

I think I found something on this - same thing happened to me the first time I tried to write on an image of a meeting agenda.

So, after importing an image, almost always the image will be too small to write on. Instead of using the pinch to zoom gesture (like zooming in on a photo), use the blue corners to increase the size of the image. somehow if you zoom using two finger pinch, Notability treats your image as a photo. If you increase the size dragging the corners out, then the image can be written on.

Don't know the reason. If this is a bug or a feature. But that's how it is. works for me. Hope my above explanation was clear and it helps.

My problem with notability is that the little magnifying glass in the bottom right corner (for bringing in the zoom in view) keep accidentally getting clicked by my cuffs or something while I am writing with the Pencil. Haven't figured out how to disable that since I barely ever use it. Anyone having the same issue?
