Most PC's would have broken from that kind of a fall and while turning. I was soooo scared as I was running toward it.

Oh please. There are plenty of youtube videos and other online info about certain Thinkpads surviving multistory falls as well as an occasional fire with data intact. This is not to mention that Thinkpad designers actually incorporated drain holes in some of their computers so if user spills a non-excessive amount of liquid on keyboard it will just pour out at the bottom at worst ruining your keyboard, while lovely Apple engineers managed to attach special sensors to MBPs to determine if there was any liquid present so they can void your warranty. Those facts alone should tell you a couple of things about both companies.

Some Apple products are generally strong because of the unibody aluminum shell but they still get deformed and broken during a fall if the hit is hard enough. The MBAs in particular are very fragile.

Proud owner of 2 Thinkpads before my MBP. Those things are incredible. I wouldn't even consider buying another PC if I had to jump on a Windows machine. I love the utilitarian styling as well..

Alright, there's one PC manufacturer. But as you read, I said "most" PCs.

Yesterday I put my MacBook on the roof of my car while I cleared off room for one of my friends. She was in a case/case of course. So as I was driving and I turned the corner onto a busy intersection I noticed a black bag on the ground when driving away. I finally realized what it was and did a u-turn and stopped in the middle of the median. I ran out of my car watching as the possibility of my beloved computer getting smashed to pieces was increased. Luckily, every car dodged it. I ran into the middle of the road, picked it up, then noticed a cop pulled over before me. He was writing me a ticket for dangerous driving and interfering with traffic, but after after I told him what had happened, he apologized and asked if I was alright. I got in my car and pulled my baby out of her case and she was alright. When I got home all I noticed on her is that when she's closed the top bottom are just a little bit unaligned.

Honestly... How some of you do that sort of thing is beyond me.
My bag - goes in my trunk. It is nice and safe in there - it sits in a cargo net so if I have to panic stop laptop and all my books are OK.

Cool story, bro.
If I put it where she goes, she would have been okay, the point still is that I forgot to take her off my roof.

OP, better being a computer then a living thing, my parents have drove down the street with the neighbors cat sitting on our roof before, luckily he wasn't jerked off and stayed up their all the way to the store. (less then 2 miles)

I have yet to give damage to my Macs yet, but I have done a fair amount with my game consoles :p

The one thing I love more than Apple is cats. I'm so glad he's alright.
