Apple will kick off it's "Notebook" media event on October 14th, 2008. News sites across the web will cover every announcement in detail, while Apple's site will be updated with any new products announced.

Some readers prefer watching the keynote themselves without knowing the outcome. Unfortunately, there is no live video feed for the keynote. Instead, Apple will likely post a recorded Quicktime stream a few hours after the keynote completes. However, for these smaller media events, there are no guarantees.

For those individuals, we've posted this news story which will be updated with the link to the Notebook event once it becomes available from Apple. No other news stories or announcements will be displayed alongside this story.

You can also subscribe to our notification list which will send out an email when the keynote is posted online. The mailing list will only be used for notifications for these spoiler free announcements and you may unsubscribe at any time.

Notify me of Keynote Stream function CheckMultiple5(frm, name) { for (var i=0; i < frm.length; i++) { fldObj = frm.elements; fldId = fldObj.id; if (fldId) { var fieldnamecheck=fldObj.id.indexOf(name); if (fieldnamecheck != -1) { if (fldObj.checked) { return true; } } } } return false; } function CheckForm5(f) { if (f.email.value == "") { alert("Please enter your email address."); f.email.focus(); return false; } return true; };
Apple can take several hours to post the feed. The mailing list can also take up to a couple of hours to send out all the emails. Be patient. Or keep checking this page.

They'll kick off something on a date that occurred three days ago? ;)

so where should i go if i want to have every single detail on every announcement mere seconds after its announced? ;)

will you be providing twitter updates as usual??

Hey thanks for doing these spoiler free sections, i used the one last month for the ipod updates although id kinda already heard everything there was to know beforehand, it still to me is an exciting time when i can sit here watching the keynote with a little bit of suspense still existing. What happened to the days when no-one knew what was going to be released? i miss them, well this is the best it will get, so thanks again.

I always try and wait but I can't help myself.
ditto. Thankfully I will have my iPhone so should I decide to check (edit: when I check, lol) I'll have a way to do so. I hope engadget etc. doesn't crash.

Awesome. Thanks so much for this thread. I hadn't done it before but it was great fun watching the 'Let's Rock' event stream spoiler-free.
Will be checking back here obsessively tomorrow evening ;)

I'm not able to contain myself this time. The keynote starts at 6pm UK time, and the stream won't be available till 10pm. If it was during the day, like it is in America, I could easily go about my day and watch it spoiler free later, but because it is at night time, I just can't wait.

I'll be pressing F5 on Engadget like a 14 year old who's just discovered porn on a dial up connection.

how long does is usually take for apple to publish the stream?

Few hours.

Yeah... last month the spoiler free was kind of pointless because the rumors had all been spot on.

The most surprising thing was Jack Johnson... and that wasn't a good surprise, that was a

*barf* I can't believe anyone likes this garbage, surprise. Furthermore I can't believe he was up there for 15 minutes. I would have hurled a hammer (1984 won't be like 1984 commercial style,) at Jack Johnson long before it ended.

Oh well, I think we'll be having a few more surprises this time. Not many rumors going around this time it seems. Lower price points. New case. Is that all? Surely they aren't going to be dedicating an entire keynote to just those two things. Oh, and I guess Blue-Ray maybe. If that's all, I can't see this keynote lasting more than 20-30 minutes. (Lol, steve jobs walks out and talks about how great the MacBooks have been selling for 15 minutes, then says "And now the new ones are skinnier, $200 cheaper, and have an optional Blue-Ray superdrive. Boom. Here's Megadeth!" (And he walks off and the remaining 5 minutes are Megadeth... oh heck, they'll play much longer than JJ, it'll be like 3 hours.)

are there any sites doing like a live blog feed thing? I was watching one last time for the ipod releases?

Wirelessly posted (iPhone: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 2_1 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/525.18.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.1.1 Mobile/5F136 Safari/525.20)

Thanks Arn and the rest of the macrumors crew for all that you do to keep us informed.

This spoiler stream page is now my homepage for now instead of the main macrumors page. I don't want everything given away to me like last time the day before the event.

Arn, last time the spoiler free keynote was posted for the iPod event, you directed us directly to an apple page where the quicktime link was. However, on that page was a huge picture that showed Steve with the colorful iPod nanos in the background. This kinda defeats the purpose of spoiler-free.

Can anyone make sure there is nothing that will spoil the event this time?
Maybe a link to the direct quicktime stream would be better :(

I usually post a direct link to the stream in the spoiler-free threads.
