They'd need to have a considerable advantage over the Max I already have. Otherwise why would I spend the money? As native integration is already as good as it gets (I only connect to Apple devices) and comfort is fantastic as well the Px8 could at best be on par. I don't use these on the go so ANC modes and whatnot are irrelevant to me. For travelling I got the Airpods Pro where the adaptive ANC is crucial.
Their advantage is sound quality. While I do not consider myself to be an audiophile, I do appreciate good sound, and AirPods (any and all), have terrible sound quality, when we're talking about listening to music. I also only use apple products and hesitated for a bit before going with the Px8, but when I did all I could say was — OMFG. Nothing beats the convenience of using AirPods within the  ecosystem, but when I'm trying to listen to music or watch a movie, without disturbing my wife — they are well worth it.

At home, I have my DT 990 Pros with velour cups. I intend to replace these with DT 1990s eventually. Neither of these are wireless if that matters to you, though!
You find that those breathe well enough for you? I would have figured the fabric to be an issue. I don't run hot, but my hear have sensitivity issues for sessions longer than about 30 minutes. I may check those out

They breathe well for sure, though I can't confidently say how much of that can be attributed to the fabric and how much to the open backs of the cans.

I can confidently say that they are supremely comfortable, though!
