I noticed today that when creating a new thread, there isn't a user preference to receive an alert when response posts are added if the responses don't meet one of the existing alert options:

Posts in a watched forum
Replies to a watched thread
Quotes your message
Mentions you in a message
Reacts to your message

I don't use the function to automatically watch a thread I've created because I don't want to manage that list, even though I'm a low-volume thread creator. Is the lack of an option for new thread response alerts a limitation of the software (or has the high humidity tricked my brain into thinking this might actually be useful)?

There is a "watch this thread" checkbox that you can manually click off when you create the thread. Does that not accomplish what you want?

Thanks arn. Yes, that would accomplish it and I mentioned that option in my post. I was just wondering if there was another option that didn't involve adding it to watched threads. Sounds like there isn't. All good.
