Can someone clarify something for me please?!

Whenever I first turn my iPhone 5 on and then pull down Notification Center, it ALWAYS opens up to the 'Missed' page first - is this normal as I'm sure pre-iOS 7.1, it would always open up to the 'Today' page first?!

I think it just opens up on whatever one you left it on?

So if you close it in missed, it opens in missed

....no - it doesn't! Thats what I initially thought but it doesn't actually do that! I always leave my Notification Center on the 'Today' tab but as soon as my iPhone is turned off and then back on again, when you then pull NC down again, it always opens to 'Missed'.....!!!

Is this the same for everyone else....?!

This is not normal. When I actually power the phone off and back on, it defaults to the "today" view.

....hmm - that is weird then:confused:

Wonder why I always get the 'Missed' tab as the default one then...?!
Do you actually have any missed notifications, in case that might play a role?

I don't think I ever caught my notification center on the missed tab even after a restart.

....no - they're always empty!! I do occasionally have some but pretty sure that the times I notice it defaulting to the 'Missed' tab (after first having powered my iPhone 5 on) is when there aren't actually any missed notifications!!

Strange.

I just tried it out again just to be sure: used the notification center and left it on the all tab, closed it, powered off the phone, turned it back on, waited for it to boot up, and then tried the notification center again on the lock screen and on the home screen after unlocking, each time it started out with the today tab by default after being turned on it would seem. Tried the same thing doing a reboot/reset instead of a power off/on and got the same result: notification center would go to the today section after the phone would turn back on.

Mine defaults to 'missed' and occasionally 'all'.
It is never, ever on the only tab I actually need/use - ie the 'today' tab. We should be able to set the default.
iPhone 5 running 7.1

Strange how mine always goes to today after a restart no matter what section I leave it on before.

I wonder what it is in the settings which prohibits this on my phone and the OP's device?
Strange.

----------

I have my notification bar lock screen access set to off. I wonder if selecting 'today view' in the lock screen affects this at all?
Can anyone confirm if their notification screen defaults to 'today' AND they have the lock screen set to off?

I don't think anyone's stated or asked whether you have any Missed notifications when it does this. Perhaps it only defaults to the Missed tab if there are missed notifications?
I don't know about the OP but my 'missed' screen is always blank and yet it is still the default.

....for the record ( I know its not what you specifically asked), I have my Notification Center in Lock screen set to off.

......it even defaults to the 'Missed' tab when I have NO missed notifications as well.

I have been actively looking at my phone over the last few days and I can say with 100% certainty, that it does indeed default to the 'Missed' tab, every time I turn my phone on?!?!

Wonder if it is a bug in iOS7.1 then? I don't recall it doing this in iOS7.......

Seems to be a bug as different people's phones exhibit different behaviour.

does it really matter though?
.....well - it does kinda matter because why does it work for some but not others (like me:confused:).

I turned my iPhone 5 on this morning and straight away, the first tab open in Notification Center is indeed the 'Missed' tab, instead of the 'Today' tab - even though I have NO missed notifications...?!

This is doing my head in.....!!!!!!!!!!!

Well in your case it might be a pain in the ass but I hardly turn off (power) my iDevices. Last time I turned my iPhone off was three weeks ago (I was in a meeting).
