Does anyone else with an iPhone 5 have this problem? The OP has an i5, and so do I. We both suffer from this and for me at least, it isn't just a case of having to press the today tab. A lot of my non-system apps can't access the notification centre. I have tried setting up as a new phone, and the problem still exists, so I believe it to be o/s related.

I found out something interesting today. My dad's iPhone 4 also opens on the 'missed' tab after a reboot. So this points to a software issue, we cannot both have had a hardware failure upon installing 7.1 (when the problem first arose) and 7.1.1

Who would reboot their phone enough for that to be an issue? Not hard when, on rare occasion when one reboots their phone, to swipe/tap over to Today or All.

No, it isn't hard but if some people do not have this bug then it is frustrating. I will clarify here as I have done in other threads, that 3rd party app notifications work intermittently in notification centre since 7.1 - so it isn't just the NC opening on the missed tab that's the problem.

With all the issues you're having, I honestly think something is wrong with your phone. Very few people have any of the issues you're having, let alone all of them. It's likely something in your settings, or your phone.

A notification centre bug since 7.1 cannot possibly be hardware-related. I have it whether set up as a new phone with no apps, and when I do an iCloud restore.

I wouldn't say that I'm having non-regular issues. Plenty of folks with the iPhone 5 have battery problems after 7.0. Plenty of folks have Safari issues due to a lack of RAM and a fair number have this notification centre bug, but because they leave their phones switched on all the time they aren't aware of it. Oh and I also have loose, rattly volume buttons ;-)

Or it may just be him......

2.5 flawless years with an iPhone 4 and a pig of an i5 becomes 'user error'? Nope, not buying it. Not to mention the numerous clean installs I've done, both from an iCloud restore and setting up as a new phone. I haven't once updated OTA.

So something is behind that. That in itself is trivial at best though, so not even a small deal really, let a lone a big deal. Does the other phone also have issues with notifications coming in general as yours seems to? Unless it somehow does, there's clearly something more unique to your phone than anything else.

He doesn't use NC, or have any apps :)
