Notification Summary and Focus reduced in usefulness until popular messaging apps don't implement "Direct Messages" and Focus Status Sharing

Hi everybody,

I just updated to iOS 15, still I think a huge drawback to Focus and Notification Summary, which are two big improvements to iOS 15, is that only iMessage (AFAIK) supports them.

The two main messaging apps I use (Telegram and Whatsapp) don't seem to be implementing it yet.

What do you think is the reason for this?

Shouldn't they have been able to develop the update through the beta versions?

Especially devs behind widespread apps such as Whatsapp or Telegram?

They can, doesn’t mean the will. Facebook are notorious for doing it in their own time. Facebook took over a year to bring Dark Mode to their main app lol.

I’m not 100% sure they can, as haven’t dived in, but presume so. Someone can correct me, as I’m not able to check anytime soon.

They can, since Focus sharing is a setting under privacy…
