Notifications for likes

Why would you want email notifications for likes?
You can change the settings under Alert Preferences.

Just curious because back in the day you would get email notifications for likes.
I was getting waaaaaay too many emails because of this

I love receiving emails makes me feel important
I think I'd have a panic attack if I got an armload of emails for any little notification.
I hate emails. Makes me remember I need to interact with someone.

I'm still waiting for TENS unit support; I want a little electrical boost every time somebody likes a comment of mine.

We didn't change anything. Unless your email address is blocked by our email provider.
Was or is there an option to get email notifications for something like likes? As far as I can tell there are options to get email notifications for things like replies in watched threads, and new messages that you might be receiving, but it doesn't look like there are email notifications for something like likes.

Are the forum message alerts insufficient?
It's a change to something that already existed though. For example, I used to get a notification after I made a post in a thread, that appears to have stopped. Notification about what? If more replies were made in the thread after you made yours, or something else? And notification on the site or over email?
As far as likes go, was there ever an option to get notified about those via email?
Strictly non-email site notifications (I never use email). Although, I did get one for this post so it appears to be working right now but it took a while to get it, maybe the notification polling times have changed? It used to be immediate.

Ah crap, I thought this place was sandboxed in my imagination. So all those private photos I sent to @AngerDanger might find themselves posted elsewhere?!
AD’s definitely a bot, though. No human would respond with “please, stop messaging me” or “dude, before I call the police, I’d really recommend seeing a doctor about that”. Plus he does boast a superhuman speed at generating GIFs.
Yeah, the more I think about it, the more I’m convinced he’s sent from the future in some evil scheme I haven’t yet worked out. I’m onto you, you goddamn toaster.
