Exact same issue here, I emailed the developer at the above mentioned email and am waiting on a reply. I do realize that of course this can not be all solved by the notified developer, I would like to involve bitesms guys into this and see if we can resolve this issue.

I'm sure bite will fix it their really good at fixing problems in a timely mannner however the main developer of bite is away this week so well prob have to wait till next week for a fix. But I think the notification redirection is curious I bet there's a way to fix it there.

How do I contact the bitesms people? I want to forward them the link I sent to notified developer guy.

I had this exact question, i bought Bite thinking i would be able to do what OP wants, I will follow this thread closely.

Yes Bite is the default SMS.
Yes, when i click on the logged text it takes me to the default sms app. which isnt really noticeable nor does it make a difference for me. The good thing is when i get a text it logs, I can also click my little bubble on the status bar which pop ups my quickreply so i can do that as i normally would. But all bite sms is logged and i am also to bring up the quickreply. I have it set it to do nothing on the smssettings. But it becomes available through my statusbar.. I also forgot to mention im on a beta5 of biteSMS. That may be the difference.. Sorry forgot about that.
