Bit off subject. I've noticed on some of the desktop pics that people have info below their HD icon (size and used or available) and also their folders show the number of items in them. Can someone tell me how to do this? Thanks. Cheers

I haven't posted a desktop for a while, here it is.
Another great photo taken by my friend, this one is a nice dog in South Carolina. I think his name was Jefferson. :)

Open up view options on the desktop and check show item info.

i saw that just a few days ago.. one of the best documentaries i have ever seen (and probably will ever see). how those little penguins are able to survive the wrath of nature is amazing.

think you could provide a link for that beautiful picture?

These are both the same from the same machine. This is a machine at school that I sit at, and I took these snaps while using the Mac terminal to ssh into a server to use IRC because IRC is blocked at school, but port 44 isn't. Anyhow, I would post pictures from my own macs, but I am afriad I would be laughed off the forums since my old macs here at the house run OS 9.1. Needless to say, until I get my 12inch Powerbook, I will stick with running Linux on this machine that I built myself.

Hey, I can play with the big boys too.. I read "The Macintosh Way" ;)

Also got some info on how to show the contents of my folders by using "show view options":)D thanks to "benjamindaines"). Now, I need some help. I'd like to change my hardrive icon and perhaps some others but don't know how to do it. Anybody talk me through this one? Is it easy or can any klutz (that would be me:) ) do this. Thanks. Cheers

To change Icons desktop wise:

first find a pic you want to change it to, copy that pic by going to edit and copy, then click ONCE on the HD and then click on File and then click on get info and then you'll see the icon in the top left...click ONCE on it and then click on edit and paste..
