These are both the same from the same machine. This is a machine at school that I sit at, and I took these snaps while using the Mac terminal to ssh into a server to use IRC because IRC is blocked at school, but port 44 isn't. Anyhow, I would post pictures from my own macs, but I am afriad I would be laughed off the forums since my old macs here at the house run OS 9.1. Needless to say, until I get my 12inch Powerbook, I will stick with running Linux on this machine that I built myself.

Hey, I can play with the big boys too.. I read "The Macintosh Way" ;)
Hey do you have a link to that desktop? It's awesome!

I wish I had an answer to your question. I found it at school, and when I went back to try to search for it from home I couldn't find it. I should be able to look through the history on that machine at school and find the link. When I do I will come and let you know.

In the meantime, I made the mistake of posting in the September Desktops thread, so here are five more that continue my previous screenshots list. After I finish this list, I will only post currently screenshots. I hope that isn't a problem for anyone.. I am just an attention hog.

Picture 1- Maestro back when it ran Slackware 10 with Gnome.
Picture 2- A computer in our Dell lab that when I was in there I would use, and I kind of customized it for my needs.
Picture 3- Same Maestro machine with Slackware 10, different background.
Picture 4- Same Machine with different Window Manager
Picture 5- Because I don't feel right posting on a mac forum without a mac screenshot.. this one was taken last year at school.

Its a new one, you can find it here. Enjoy!

Thanks for the link to that style, but I have another question for you....

In your desktop image I see that the contact list window has rounded edges. When I have Smoked set I get squared edges....any specific change to get rounded corners??

You have the window style set to "borderless window" probably.

Change it to "Group Bubbles"

By golly, that is it :p

I was about to say that would work except that isn't group bubbles....but I didn't seem them because the first group is so large I figured that it was all one. So s***, too bad they can't just round the borderless, I much prefer a single window but it looks so much more refined with rounded edges, hmmm.

Thanks for pointing that out Brother Michael.

No problem efoto. :)

If you go to "View" > "Show Groups" and uncheck it (aka select it from the menu), that should fix the problem of multiple groups.

Of course if you have 100 buddies, you may need to set some of the sorting options or something...

Excellent, learned something new yet again today. Nice note on the "Show Groups" part too, great.

Hate to bring back an awfully old thread, but does anyone know where I can get the image that Lacero used for his background? (It's on page 3 - it's brown and has a design on it.)

I'd really, really appreciate it.
