ok, well as im the only one not doing it (and it looks cool :) ) how do you change your icons and make adium look like that...

Don't know about Adium but here's a little tutorial from pixelgirlpresents on how to change your icons.

Here are quick step by step instructions about how to change your icons on your mac.

Once you download the set you want to use, your computer will unstuff or unzip it. (You must have stuffit expander for this to happen- It is built into OS X but is free if you don't have it).

To apply the icon that you like to a file, folder, or application, simply click on the icon you would like to use (do not double-click. Select 'Get Info' from the File menu at the top of your desktop (or press command-i).

A information window will open. Click on the icon that appears in this window (in the upper left corner) and select 'Copy' from the Edit menu (or press command-c).

Next, select the file, folder, or application icon you would like to change. Select 'Get Info' from the File menu at the top of your desktop (or press command-i).

Click on the icon displayed within this window and chose 'Paste' from the Edit menu (or press command-v). The icon should now be updated and you can close the window.
This should work for any Finder object for which you have permission to change.

Finder issues: Sometimes you will copy and paste, but the icon doesn't change. If this happens, simply go to your apple menu at the top of your desktop and select "force quit." A list will pop up and select the Finder. Then click on the "relaunch" button. That should solve your problem.

The huge icons are to dissuade me from cluttering the desktop. Usually, after a week it looks like a bombsite.

just a quick question, why do you have your icons so big? surely it hinders your productivity?

How did you get your dock to go on the bottom left of the screen?

Click on the apple button in your menu bar on the top left of screen, scroll down to Dock and select dock preferences. Change settings from there! :) You can also achieve the same thing by going through System Preferences directly.

Biker21098 - I love the foggy shot with the bikes in it :)

Here's my desktop so far. This is in my hometown, the day before Thanksgiving. For Adam Sandler fans, The Bistro restaurant behind my car was the Pizza place in Mr. Deeds. I took this shot around 11:00 at night.
