somewhere warm, dark, and cozy
Very often, especially on weekends, I find myself in this awkward situation:

When I watch a movie and a call comes in, there's no way to access Remote app to pause the movie, unless I answer the call first or decline it. By the way, Remote app is my only remote; Siri-mote is never handy when a call comes in.

With a physical home button, I was able to access Remote app, pause, then answer the call.

Wish there were some sorta workaround or a "fix"...

Physical button existed long before touch screen was even a thing. It is pretty reliable. I am using iPhone 6s Plus. When something is coming, I press the home button and jump out to deal with it. When done, jump back. For gesture, I would say Apple does not really think through all gestures before releasing iOS 11 and the iPhone X. App switcher on all non X force touch devices definitely could be used on X, but they choose not to. Landscape returning to home screen is tricky when playing the game. This list could go on and on.

This just in. Apple could have launched the iPhone without a home button in 2007. They didn't. Guess what that means?

Is there a way to ignore the incoming call, put it to a background and let it continue ringing, while I tend to other things on the phone? Feel like I am held hostage when a call comes in, where it has to have the highest priority, where I have to either choose accept or decline before I can move on to other things. Or is there something I should know about? With Android I can choose to ignore it and let it ring until the person on the other end gives up and hangs up.

So sweet and sour then?
