What are you guys talking about, the 4S has it!
What do you mean? I have it now! I'm guessing this is a solar flare related screwy thing with AT&T here in Detroit, but my non-jailbroken (never has been) iPhone 4s has decided to start telling me it has 4G today, lol!
After the iOS update my iPhone 4s started to display the 4G at the top too... i am in southern CT by the way
My iPhone 4S displayed 4G mode today after downloading new iOS for the first time ever.
Verizon and AT&T both have true 4G LTE, but Verizon has it nearly nationwide, and AT&T only has it in select cities.
There's a difference between AT&T's FAKE HSPA+ "4G" and REAL LTE 4G. The iPhone is HSPA+ compliant, but it's not 4G. AT&T (and T-Mo) like to say HSPA+ is 4G, but it's really just 3.5G. Nearly nationwide? It's more than AT&T, but it's still very far from being nearly nationwide.

I was being sarcastic, with the new "4G" symbol and all....seems like Sonicjay was as well.
I don't know what would be so hard about having it display "H+" a la Moto Atrix 4G. There's already a lot of discussion about that though.

4G and 4 inch screen please Apple!!
They claim their 4G coverage will be as widespread as their 3G coverage by the end of 2013. If that's the case, then it won't be that long 'til it matches AT&T's existing 3G coverage (which is pathetic compared to Verizon's). I'm thinking I'm just going to pay the ETF and switch to Verizon this fall if the new iPhone is indeed 4G.
Well, it's not Nationwide, but it's very widespread, especially around the eastern US. AT&T's is much much smaller, and T-Mo doesn't even have real 4G.
