Laggy animation-gate.

That's not a bug, it's a feature.

I'm guessing we'll hear about people opening other people's iPhones via TouchID at approximately the same rate we heard about spontaneous iPhone 5 bending. Plus some TouchID electrocutions sprinkled here and there and it's likely going to involve people trying to see if TouchID works in the shower or after sticking their finger in their ass.

A feature can still be a bad one or a badly implemented one (even if it's not actually buggy).

Removing swipe left to right was a stupid idea. This is the way I did it. It made sense because you could swipe, then the delete button would be right at your fingertip, rather than swiping right to left then having to bring your finger all the way back to the right side of the screen the tap the delete button.

Love iOS 7 but man it seems like a step back in terms of posting to Twitter

i am very underwhelmed as its been a pain in the backside to get the GM

I downloaded a copy and it screwed up the phone making me have to restore and downgrade which made me lose stuff and be a massive pain... I couldnt restore a backup as they were ios 7 based....

then I get one that works and now I cant connect to Itunes to restore the backup there anyway. Thanks Apple release a GM and make it unable to connect to Itunes on pc until you bother to release 11.1

then I get into the bones of it and Control Centre is still very empty on the iphone 4 and Facebook and Twitter buttons really are gone which is just idiotic beyond belief they should be in CC with the other buttons. Also custom labels for contacts details havent been brought back which disappeared after beta 3 or 4 I think. Really wanted those for work contacts etc.

all in all very lackluster

Do you think iOS 7 will be horrible on iPad 5 and iPad mini 2 as well?

Why? Do you think it is horrible on the iPad 4 and iPad Mini?
My guess is you're just jumping on some dumb bandwagon here and there is really nothing wrong.

iOS 7 isn't changing much. Bugs will be fixed. Icons will not change. Animations seem to be set. That's it.

If I have to call a "gate" I'll say fanboy-gate.

Time for devil's advocate... and all jokes aside.

I strongly believe the public will go get pretty mad about the slow animations - it ruins productivity, and makes using an iPhone rather annoying compared to Android.

On Android you can minimize to the homescreen and start swiping as the animation is still even completing!

iOS7 you have to wait till the animation to fully complete and icons to fly-in before you can start swiping... zzzz:confused::rolleyes::apple:

Prepare for the backlash, and inevitable iOS 7.0.1 "faster animations" fix.

Laggy animation-gate.
What do you guys mean by laggy animations? If I touch an icon on my iPad the program opens up quickly. Do you guys mean there's now a delay between touching the icon and the program opening up?

Fine, I'll play. I am running beta 6 of iOS 7 on an iPhone 4S. I don't get any laggy animation issues. I've used android phones before and can't seem to detect anything wrong. I just wonder if this is all in people's heads.

Watch this please.

It's not "lag", it's just slow animations. Stop looking for lag, nobody says it is lagging... it's just slow.

It's part of Apple's "trick" to make iPhones seem smoother, they show you a nice animation to hide the lag, and can't do anything whilst it is animating.

Maybe:

calling everything that is remotely controversial gate after the watergate scandal even though it makes absolutely no sense whatsoever-gate

GM greatly improved my battery on iPhone 5! I haven't had any problems at all. Everything is perfectly smooth. The only 'gate' is the update to iTunes 11.1 taking so god damn long to come out so I cannot restore my back up :(

Dont go making accusations with out knowing facts. Stop "guessing" and read some threads with people having the exact same issues. There are some glaring bugs in the ios 7 GM for iPad. THATS IT!

My iPhone 4S froze yesterday and today when launching iTunes radio it reset itself. Other than that its been ok. But no matter what theres no excuse for the phone restarting itself even if this is a .0 release.

Oh god not the obnoxious A.D.D. kid video again. Yes thats not lag, but there actually is lag on the iPad 4 during animations. The rotation animation looks like its slower and more choppy than even an iPad 1.

There will not be a backlash over this. Most user's won't even notice. It's the hardcore ones like the ones here on these forums that need everything now now now now and can't wait half a second.
