"[People] don't care about spec, they care about it working."

there. I fixed it again.

I don't care if my iPhone or mac has a 100MHZ Processor or 3GHz Processor. It's mostly all about the Software. As long everything is smooth and fast I'm alright, people are alright. This is why the buy Apple products, it works, it's easy, it's smooth. If you want fastest processors and best specs, go buy a Windows PC and HTC Phone, because Apple products overall just haven't best specs and this is alright.

Yea, I agree, best specs don't mean the best product. But, better specs could result in a better product (e.g. better gpu - better graphics, better cpu - faster tasks, etc).

And while I don't doubt your reasons for buying Apple, there are a lot of people who just buy Apple because it's Apple (aka Fanboys/girls). How else do you explain the iPhone 4 being the top-selling phone in the world when it has a faulty antenna?

Think about that...it's a phone...meant to be used to talk to people...but a major design flaw made it so the phone couldn't be used to talk to people. Yet, it outsells every other phone that works properly? Why? Marketing and branding. Not because "it works".

I think the whole antenna thing is absolutely overrated. My sister and father own a iPhone 4 and several friends at work and at around me, too. Nobody complains about issues with the antenna.

IF you hold the iPhone 4 in a certain way, the problem appears - TRUE.

There are several other reasons why the iPhone 4 is successful, not just marketing.

Nope. The Siri app I've had for months has the ability to do everything that was listed in the keynote.
But as a stand alone app that was not integrated into the system whatsoever. its a novelty as a stand alone app. The true power and potential with Siri is now being realized. I think they have only scratched the surface with this. My guess is it won't be too long before they do an SDK that makes it possible for developers to integrate this into their apps as well.

and how did apple became apple? how do you explain all the consumer surveys? faulty antenna? hahah get over it, how many calls have dropped because of that? i dont even know what a drop call means and i telephoned in all kinds of coverage areas (you dont know where a i live so you cant say anything because believe me, its worse than your area)

when the competition makes a phone thats not made of PLASTIC and doesn't stutters (yes i worked on g. s2) then they can be regarded as competition

Woooooooooowww...

You seriously just blew my mind right there mojohanna

That would be awesome! :)

Didnt they just a couple of months ago open up the iCloud data center in NC somewhere?

haha...ok. You're right because you tell me to believe you. And you didn't get any dropped calls, so it was a non-issue I'm sure. And if I search "antennagate" on Google, I'm sure all the results that show up are from tabloids and unreputable conspirers. If you don't think branding's important, you're delusional.

You really don't think apple has any competition huh? Thank God you're not in charge of apple...

I wish other companies put as much R&D and time into ONE GOOD PHONE as Apple does into the iPhone. That is, instead of making 4 half-assed phones that could also be a good phone, if Samsung, HTC, Motorola et all would make ONE phone each instead of making a half dozen phones to accommodate every carrier in the US.

I don't think anyone really knows what it's being used for, exactly. It's likely iCloud-related, but who knows? (Keep in mind that Apple, for some reason, appears to be using both Microsoft and Amazon for some part of iCloud. It's something of a mystery why Apple would do this, given that massive data center in NC.)

ok, i live in croatia, where is it? a lot of my friends have iphones, around 10, no dropped phone calls... antennagate - overblown dont you agree? wasnt there a survey which showed that 3gs dropped twice as much calls as iphone 4? the thing about branding is that you need to build your brand, and how did apple build theirs? in my opinion with very fast, intuitive and beautiful technology - what would mobile phones look like if there werent iphone? we would all still have nokia n models jesus, what about unibody, what about first standard ssd? screens without pixels? they gave me everything i ever wanted, i remember when i first saw a screen as a kid, the first thing i thought in my head why is this picture made of dots, this cannot be, and it was no more - thanks to apple, they are one of the most popular brands, and they deserve it the most

and the competition, who htc? plain ugly out side, plain ugly inside, stutters, battery life etc. etc. , again what competition?

exactly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! there should be no more than 5-6 phone on the market

White iPhone

If you recall, when the iPhone 4 came out, the white version was supposed to come with it. Well it did not because of issues. Six months ago they released the white phone and that was like a new phone for that year. Remember? Well now they have upgraded both. It seems like this will be an pattern that Apple will follow. Each phone made will be, for example, iPhone 4, then 4s. iPhone 5, then 5s, see the trend. This will most likely go on in Apple's manufacturing trend. Personally, I don't want a thinner iPhone, the 4 & 4s are perfect sizes. The other phones on the market are like mini tablets, too big at times. 16 months have passed because of the release of the white iPhone.
