Yes that’s what I said. In 2016 they came out and admitted to at least one issue, and cancelled their order for thousands more.

This time around no I don’t think they would admit anything especially if they know valuable information has been compromised.

They didn't come out and admit anything in 2016. They issued a cleverly worded non-denial which fools people even to this day. They could have done the same thing this time until the story blew over.

Are you sure about this? I've seen reverse info. Their statement back then denied they had faulty firmware and in their recent response about the chip, they referenced the 2016 incident but said they found one isolated incident. The quotes are in an above post of mine.

I did go back and re read an article and after an internal audit Apple said the faulty machine was done “unintentionally”.

Yet they still chose to cancel an order of close to 7000 machines ?

I dunno the whole story just doesn’t sound right.

Was the internal audit before or after Apple cancelled the order?

Why would anyone believe anything the NSA says?

Didn't the head of US intelligence,
under oath mind you, tell Congress that the NSA has never spied on US citizens?
I mean come on...

Yes.

And his excuse later was "duh, I had to lie 'cause national security..."

Yet the question remains: Why did Apple dump supermicro in 2016?

That remains a question for anyone who has been living under a rock.

Just because they haven’t found them, doesn’t mean they aren’t there. And if they did find them, do you really think Apple would admit to finding them? Of course not. They’d say exactly what they are saying now. Lol.

Using that lovely argument then we can suspect billions of crazy things for which we have zero evidence and we can not see. Yep, just because there is no proof and we can not see them it doesn't mean they don't exist. The limit is your imagination.

If yes, if they found them.... sooner or later the truth would come out and Apple would have no legs to stand because something like that it would be hard to hide. Just like with the Blomberg who seemed to have shot themselves in a foot thinking they can just get away with any BS story they publish. Apparently not this time.

This was the first article I read from MR..

https://www.macrumors.com/2017/02/23/apple-ends-relationship-with-super-micro/

Then when I googled the story it said the Siri servers may have been compromised. All this back in 2016. Then they cut ties.

You confidently said Apple cancelled the order AFTER determining the infection was accidental. This article says nothing like that anywhere.

Remember you started out by talking about what Apple 'admitted' as it it were proof of what they're now denying. But that admission didn't say what you thought it said. So then you pivoted to saying the admission was suspect and probably a lie. But now the facts you based your suspicion on are eluding you too, so now you're talking about Siri compromises which Apple firmly denied. That's a complete 180.

As much as you want to deny it, this slippery evasion of logic is exactly how conspiracy theorists work, although they probably don't realise they're doing it.

Your first two posts on the topic, for reference to what your point started out as...

I’m sure Apple was hacked... I wouldn’t admit it either.

Edit... well not Apple but their machines they purchased.

They already admitted it once back in 2016.

---

Did it or did it not already happen in 2016 according to Apple?

Conspiracy theory I think not.

But that’s what the article says. So your post confuses me. Or maybe you’re the one who’s confused.

I just posted what the article I read said, I didn’t say it was fact/

Did they or did they not cancel an order for computers after they found a bad one? YES/
As for Siri I never said the severs were hacked, I said a quick google search came up with it might have been, same with the article.

I don’t even care what happened, didn’t start any conspiracy...just reading an article is all... so stop twisting words.

I’m done goodbye

So they would lie to the public and all their shareholders? Got it.

Um, yeah they would lie if directed to do so by a federal government agency. We already know that federal security agencies have forced large telcos to lie about their complicity in the federal monitoring program, so it's not like this would be a new thing.

Apple have zero need to tell lies here and even if you put your tin foil hat on there still is no reason for the conspiracy theory that they are pretending that they were ordered to pretend the story is false.

That couldn't be further from the truth. There are ample reasons for Apple and the government to deny that this happened.

I mean where is Bloomberg's evidence? Why not name their sources? Why the silence since the story broke ? Apple have been detailed in their response to the story. Some times you have to admit that to continue believing in a conspiracy in spite of all evidence is simply paranoid.

You honestly don't understand why anyone would be reluctant to be named as a source for this?

All traffic is monitored, it would show up.
I've got gear from Ubiquiti worth just a few 100 €, there's DPI on it and monitor it, Aple's amongst other have much more advanced monitoring, it will show up.

I think this whole story is insane and so is the discusion here as well.
There is no chip.(implanted)

Traffic will be monitored by Apple, and no doubt it it will be the best that money can buy, but it would be foolish of us to think there isn't an organisation out there that has access to data and passwords for every sites we visit.

It's inevitable.
