I'm trying to think of why you would need two home buttons...

What if they were enabled for multi-touch and they could be used like joysticks... not in that they'll pop out like a joystick but because it's recessed it's easier to use than a similar "button" on the screen without your finger moving around. That'd create problems in accidentally hitting the home button and exiting the app but I'm sure there are numerous fixes for that.

1.888.NEUROTIC has 1 too many digits for a phone number.....wait.....that number's a fake!!

A lot of companies have numbers that have too many letters to be a phone number but it still let's them spell out there name so it's easy to remember. I'm not saying this is legit because I think almost everyone would bet a lot of it's fake but it's not fake because the numbers don't match the letters.

The 'iPad' in the video is such a bad fake - the ports on the back are for plugs (USB etc) that are longer than the thickness of the supposed tablet. Rookie mistake - why bother??

The obvious giveaways that the ad is fake are the ellipses (...) which Apple never uses, the too-square form factor, and the lack-luster virtual keyboard image on the screen. Methinks Apple would want to make more of a splash on the thing's screen!

So what, after the first 11 digits, everything else is just an empty gesture? That means their stealing moments of my life, moments I could spend listening to call waiting music, or getting frustrated with an annoying automated menu system. ;)

Plus, doesn't Apple tend to show the thing in action. Not just static images on a floating tablet. If this thing is supposed to do something new, I'd imagine that would be the focus of an ad for it. (shrugs).....of course the fact that this is a fake is really a non-issue now at this point. I.....I'm just distracting myself from what I should be doing....

Automated menus... annoying? Get outta here... :D

If you're going to create a mockup tablet for a fake video, why make obvious mistakes like putting ports on the back? Imagine using a tablet with ports like that...

Seriously! An Ethernet port? WIRED INTERNET? Wow.

Of course :apple:

Another video of a french blog, simple & imaginative <3 http://www.begeek.fr/publicite-islate-simple-et-imaginatif-7040

I want one! That was a great commercial! Wouldn't be surprised if Apple bought that (like they did with Nick Haley's iPod Touch commercial)

They all look cool, but the last one is obviously fake. Giveaway: the ports. If they're on the back & the tablet's as thin as it appears to be, then when you plug in a USB device or ethernet cable, the connector looks like it'll pop out the front (or very well near it). Maybe ports on the side, but even ethernet port will probably be too big. Besides, isn't the tablet supposed to be used as a wireless device?

You are right that the ports are a dead give-away... there's no depth to them, and they show that the back is pretty much ripped from an iMac photo and skinned onto a 3D model.

The french ad is definitely fake... Apple would not focus on a virtual keyboard as the highlight AND... most of all.. the image is off center! And gets worse as the iPad rotates!

Fun though... can't wait to see the real thing on Wednesday!

They get a +1 for the radio-signal-friendly stripe on the back, but the screen image is OS X w/ OS X apps in the docks. Also what appear to tech trademark emblems and logos on the back. My MacBook Air doesn't have "Intel inside." stamped on it anywhere. Apple doesn't co-brand like that. And, IMO, Apple would never tell you how long a product had been in development. Certainly not in an ad. That begs slights like, After 10 years the best they could come up with is this?

But yes, fun. And probably pretty close to what we'll see Wednesday, unless it's just a touchscreen iMac! But otherwise how many different ways can you design a very thin tablet computer with a 7" - 10" display? Somebody should have stuck a user-swappable battery compartment cover on the back of one of the fakes. Then we might have all thought, It's so crazy it just might be true!

it's already been done!

Here is what the Apple Tablet version 1 was like, back in 1983

Apple have had 26 years to work on this, better be something special!
