Online chat with OWC Technical Staff
Interestingly, I tried an online chat with the technical staff (not sales nor service) and ask about this issue.
So initially, the guy went on to say about the warranty and blah blah blah. I told him I want to know about the technical details and indeed the manufacturer is NOT THE SAME. The chip IS NOT THE SAME. Whats really important is that the technical staff talking to me by the name of Mat* L** admits that there is a problem with NuRAM and MBP 2010. He even told me the only way to solve this issue is to switch to "higher end" graphics at all time!
He also said there is no such problems with OWC ram.
In the end I am not so sure if its just a bad batch of NuRAM.
Could either be bad batch or this guy dont know his ****.
Anyhow, I just wanted to share this information here.
I will be buying OWC ram for piece of mind and to save the trouble of returning and replacement. So far OWC ram had gotten nothing but praises and I think for 40 bucks more than nuRAM, its totally worth it!
