if Apple went ATI that'd be okay for the GPU, although I really like the 320m and have mostly owned nvidia based laptops and one with an ATI. I prefer nvidia in Windows overall and I game in Windows. Serious gamers can and do own macs, I love gaming and went from an Alienware to current MBP and very satisfied with performance.

As for AMD CPU's, no thanks. I used to have an AMD CPU back in 2000 when they were decent, but Intel has just squashed them with their CPUs of late, no comparison. Rather have the current C2D's than AMD's CPU line up. Graphics are good though

Yeah the nvidia card is much weaker than my ATI. I don't like using bootcamp anymore either. I bought the gaming rig in my sig for windows games but my iMac handles OS X games just fine.

Not going to turn this thread into an ATI performance vs Nvidia performance. But as I said, if I load bootcamp I can play the game much better on my 330MGT with higher settings, it's not underpowered at all. That's what annoy's me with Apple. If they were serious about games as a company, they would allow ATI and Nvidia to make their own drivers and release them to Apple who can test them and then in turn release them to the public.

iMac 4850 is better than MBP 330 for gaming with OS X. Under Windows the difference may not be as apparent. Also as you've discovered Apple is very slow to update OS X display drivers and in my opinion has always had better optimization of their OS X ATI drivers.

Of course I am biased. I do not like nvidia and prefer ATI when at all possible. Someday I'll get past the foul stench of 8600 that permeates every thought of nvidia.

Cheers,
