Well as of this morning it seems that my data issues in SoHo have been fixed. I'll test it over the next few days but so far today I've been getting about 1.5Mbps in my office consistently (not GREAT speeds but at least it's working now)! I don't see why there would be any less congestion today than normal but I'll def keep testing it to make sure.

Great to hear! Over on the ATT forum it was said that NYC was getting improvement and upgrade.

Just realized it could be due to the holiday week (week after Presiden't Day) so that could be the reason there is less congestion. Will have to see next week.

AT&T Forum?

Where is this AT&T forum you write about?

I'm giving AT&T one more week to fix my problem in lower Manhattan. Outside I have no problem, but in the building I work in, everyone except AT&T gets good connections and few dropped calls. AT&T tells me there are tower issues which are being fixed. One more week and then I go to Verizon at a great cost. I hope they do fix it.

ATT's website. and yes there are ongoing improvements in NYC, who knows when your specific case will be fixed though.

Well I guess yesterday was an aberration. Once again, 5 bars of 3G service in my SoHo office and can't connect to the Internet. Frustrating!

Have you reported the problem via AT&T's Mark the Spot app? I would report it at least daily if not a couple of times a day - that might prompt some action from them.

I have a bunch of times.

Bump.

I was in NYC last week and I didn't see any major issues with ATT voice and data. Slower data speeds than Philly but not signifigant most likely due to more conjestion.

Maybe I'm missing something, but doesn't that map show it pretty solid currently in the NY area? I'm not seeing light blue there for March 31'st deployment at least...

I'm hoping it picks up in the NY Brooklyn area. Last time I was out there for work, it was the pits. 4-5 bars, but no data. Also the first time I started getting hard with the "Could not activate Cellular Data Network" bug.

I've seen reports that they have just launched a 4th carrier in NYC area (may still be in progess)....and it's also on the 850mhz band. So there are now 2 850mhz 3g carriers in NYC...awesome.
