Nope, on the old iPhone tarrifs (3G, 3Gs) You got unlimited data AND unlimited Wi-Fi.

But now they've capped the data due to 3% of users or so raping the data through spotify etc. As i'm sure you're aware.

But the letter i received confused me, as it doesn't mention BTOpenZone, just the Wi-Fi data allowances will change as of 01/10/10.

How hard can it be to say 'The unlimited Wi-Fi is only a promotion, and will change as of 01/10/10'

.

They can realistically expect you to read through something as important as your allowances, surely? I'll bet you made sure you knew your calls and text allowance! :)

Regardless, where do they draw the line in telling customers what they're entitled to? 600,000 iPhones in a few days - the staff barely had time to utter a hello, let alone start stating contract terms. Additionally, those who bought over the internet wouldn't have the luxury of hearing the allowance read out to them, as you've suggested, leading to a whole new issue.

I do sympathise with your situation, though; 500mb isn't a huge amount of data, I guess, so the wi-fi is important.

I opted for the more expensive tarriff, thus giving me 750MB of data. Which realisticly isn't enough. So I will be forced to use Wi-Fi wherever and whenever i can.

Also, I went into the store on launch day, at around 4:30pm, it was empty. And i had the last iPhone in the shop ^____^

So there was no reason for the guy not telling me about the Wi-Fi.

People working in phone shops are completely retarded though. I went into O2 for a micro-sim adapter and they didn't even know what a micro-sim was...

Are you an adult? Can you read and write?

If you have answered yes then it's your fault!

You chose to accept the terms of a contract without reading it, more fool you.

Is there any need for the snidey/cocky attitude?

As far as I'm aware, Unlimited UK Wi-Fi means just that.

All I'm complaining about is that I wasn't told it was a promotion when I got the phone. Yes, i COULD have read all the T&C's. But I didn't have time/the patience for that. Hardly rocket science for him to say it's a promo.

He offered me everything else under the sun. Insurance, cases, covers, docks.

The above link went live before launch. It clearly states the unlimited wifi is a promotion.

The above link covers t&c plus excessive usage information.

All were available before you made your purchase.

The reason I'm being short is because people like you bug me.

You can't be bothered to read the t&c then want to moan when you find out something you don't like?

Unlimited data on all smartphone tariffs is a promotion until 1 October 2010. Excessive usage policy and terms apply.

I believe Unlimited data, and Unlimited UK Wi-Fi are two different things?

Doesn't that say unlimited data is a promotion, not wifi.

With all due respect, shouldn't these questions be directed to someone at O2? What good will come of moaning about it here?

The question was asked, you've had your answer so I think maybe O2 Customer Services are better placed to satisfy you than forum members.

Just a thought.

With all due respect, I was just pointing it out to other O2 UK Customers. As i'm sure many aren't aware either.

& FYI, I shall be contacting O2 about this.

Brilliant.

End of thread :)

Just to clarify what I have which was only activated today :-
I purchased my iPhone 4 from Apple Online and Changed my existing o2 contract to a iPhone simplicity 15 12 month, maybe buying a iPhone 4 with a contract is different ?
