Haha, I am in school for computer science, and my iMac is for my studio/job from home.

However, I'd rather sell the MBP now and pick up a new one for school this year after the refresh.

so are you saying just a smaller MBP for the next refresh? very wise you are...lol
i wouldn't expect any refresh until Intel ivy bridge comes out. and that's not for another 1-2 months.

Went in for a hard drive check - genius found (1) dead pixel and replaced the entire screen for free :)

I have a 15" mbp to use in the meantime. No worries :p

Yeah, but its a bit annoying to lug around (i ride a sportbike), and I can get the most $ back from it to recoupe imac costs, thx to Apple. All in all, best choice for my personal situation.

Beat that, HP/Dell/etc!

Dell replaced my laptop for free and I am the one who dropped it, I got a comp 3 years later with way better specs.

Good customer service is everywhere, just got to know how to get it.

Apple just did the same thing for me, after 3 weeks and 3 screen replacements on my 3 year old now out of warranty mac, they finally called it and replaced it with a brand new 27" iMac and even bumped me up to the higher model. This happened on wednesday. Apple care cannot be beat imo.
