Occasional Random Songs Added to Library?

Perhaps someone can explain this odd behavior from the Apple Music app. On occasion, both my wife and I have seen seemingly random (though actually related) songs added to our libraries automatically.

At first I thought it was using the 'Add Playlist Songs' setting in the Music configuration page but she has only been playing specifically chosen albums.

This has been asked on the official Apple help forums with few answers getting to the bottom of the issue - only suggestions. I have to say that this has not happened to me in months, however.

Could it be related to our family subscription?

It could be that you added a playlist a while ago, maybe an Apple playlist that is dynamic. If the songs inside that playlist change and the playlist was initially added to your library then you automatically get the fresh songs added.

This has happened to me too. What is weird, is I don't have a family subscription and songs were added randomly that are some of the artists I listen to, but others are added randomly that I don't listen to.

I'm running iOS 10.1 beta 1, and thought it might be the reason, but after reading your message I think it's something to do with Apple Music.

This is also happening to me but I locked it down to adding songs to a custom playlist. It messes everything up so now I just add albums like I usually do. Also I am a old folk which prefers listening to albums over single tracks.

I never added songs to custom play lists. Wonder if it's something else in Apple Music.

I didn't think of this actually. I could have added a playlist in the past, deleted it, and that's why I haven't been getting any unwanted additions now. Does not explain my wife having the same issue though... o_O

Well now I don't know what to think.:D

Apple Music has been a mess for me. I regret paying for a year. So many issues. This is one of many.

I had dozens of songs added to my library after updating to iOS 10. It was a disaster.

I used iTunes signed into my iCloud and  Music to sort my songs by date added, and found a bunch added at 2:30am with no plays and no way I could have added the 80 or so songs all at once like that. So I just deleted them all.

Apple really needs to fix their ****. I now regret ever switching back in the early '00s
