OK I think I figured it out. You can order the pallets in the #Team520 from the arrival scan time in ZhengZhou.

From what I can tell, those with a 7pm or 7:48pm arrival scan time made UPS99. Looks like there are a couple with 7:58pm arrival scan times in Zhengzhou who didn't make it :/ My bets are on that pallet being the first on the next flight out though.

When is the next flight out?

I am still in Incheon. Still. How many other people, two?

ALSO FlightTrack (iPhone app) says UPS99 is still on time for 7:13 which could make sense but FlightAware says midnight, which is like 4AM EST. flight time left is 2h 22m which seems short but that's what it's reporting.

When did yours arrive in Incheon?
Mine was there from 804pm on the 22nd...was yours the same arrival?

Yep, mine touched down in MIA around 7:10pm so delivery tomorrow.

Funny enough.. a UPS TRUCK broke down in front of my house today, no joke. Thankfully not in front of my driveway!

That sounds like the ultimate test of whether you jump inside it and dig for iPhones.

I'm still waiting for the touch down.. should I be worried?

It doesn't seem logistically feasible they broke up the pallets and sorted based on destination. Apple may have pre-grouped based on shipping method or some other criteria like exact model.

I am a iPhone 6+ 64GB AT&T Space Gray. I ordered 2:15AM PDT. My UPS tracking went live on:

09/21/2014 10:14 P.M. Order Processed: Ready for UPS

iPhone 6 64GB Space Gray Verizon - Ordered September 14, 2014 7:54PM

I wonder if the "5:20" group was divided into two parts and scheduled for different planes??

It's conceivable they filled up UPS99 and had to get part of the shipment on another flight.

Some of the 520 group appears to have arrived a day later on the 23rd. Some of ours arrived a day early on the 22nd. That may be why the earlier arriving ones are departing sooner?

Remember

The journey is the destination, or something like that.

I can't believe Apple is only producing these phones in ZhengZhou. That's the real issue. That's the bottleneck.

The supply chain is constrained. UPS can only add so many additional flights and airplanes. They don't control take off and landing slots. They can't take over extra space at the airport. It's not feasible to lease extra airplanes for one event per year.

Even if FEDEX, DHL, and UPS were all being used as shipping companies in ZhengZhou, they are squeezing this one city's limits for the supply chain. An American shipping company can only do so much to deal with the extra volume. This is why many US companies build their depots around Memphis and Louisville. These cities and airports have spent decades building to support the constant volume of FEDEX and UPS. This includes the 3rd party inter-model companies that move freight between air, train, and truck.

It's terribly complicated and we're not seeing delays because UPS wants to torture their customers. There is absolutely no upside if this were true. There is a constraint somewhere in UPS's system and it's not easy to grow your operation in one Chinese city for an event that happens once per year.

If Apple produced these phones in 2-3 cities, the burden would be distributed and we would not be here right now.

My iPhone just left Anchorage, heading towards Louisville. I called UPS to have them hold it at my local facility so I can pick it up first thing in the morning.

No movement since the last update......anyone else in the same boat? Delivery of 9/25

Got a departure scan from MIA probably to the hub for my area for tomorrow! I just hope it isn't the truck that got stuck in front of my house :D hah
