Has anyone else noticed that there are no departures currently scheduled to leave louisville between 1:50 and 5:20 am. Odd huh? That's when the anchorage flights were arriving last night
UPS said 9/22 originally but my apple expected date was Delivers Sep 25, 2014 by Standard Shipping. I ordered on 9/12 @ 5:30am CT.
ya'll babies need to ****...phones are coming tomorrow..end of story..stop whining..geeezzzus
Shenzen is a second factory.
I'm afraid you're right. Yet there's no reason for them to just sit there till then
Haha...hours after me and your shipping dates were all shorter. I love it.![]()
I rather have my phone sitting in Kentucky than having it making more Asian stops than a One Direction concert
When do you usually get the notification that your package is ready to pick up at the UPS center?
You're not the only one man
You and me both brother.![]()

Who's still in Incheon?
Tempted to just go to bed and see what tomorrow morning brings us since I know I won't be getting it tomorrow. Oh well.

I can't believe Apple is only producing these phones in ZhengZhou. That's the real issue. That's the bottleneck.
The supply chain is constrained. UPS can only add so many additional flights and airplanes. They don't control take off and landing slots. They can't take over extra space at the airport. It's not feasible to lease extra airplanes for one event per year.
Even if FEDEX, DHL, and UPS were all being used as shipping companies in ZhengZhou, they are squeezing this one city's limits for the supply chain. An American shipping company can only do so much to deal with the extra volume. This is why many US companies build their depots around Memphis and Louisville. These cities and airports have spent decades building to support the constant volume of FEDEX and UPS. This includes the 3rd party inter-model companies that move freight between air, train, and truck.
It's terribly complicated and we're not seeing delays because UPS wants to torture their customers. There is absolutely no upside if this were true. There is a constraint somewhere in UPS's system and it's not easy to grow your operation in one Chinese city for an event that happens once per year.
If Apple produced these phones in 2-3 cities, the burden would be distributed and we would not be here right now.

Has anyone on this thread had a package coming from Shenzen? It seems the majority are coming from ZhengZhou airport. I would find a factory outside of China.

I called Apple and they told me, I am sorry for all the inconvenience but we haven't done anything wrong on our part and be happy you are getting it the 25th instead of mid Oct, because they are a lot of customer that are not as lucky as you!. Because their site crashing is not their fault, not having enough phones to at least cover the first 5hrs of pre orders is not their fault. This keeps happening year after year and they still haven't been able to get their act together to the point their site works and they have enough inventory to cover the first 3-5hrs of pre-orders!.
They were talking about manufacturing/storing the apple devices from different locations but it's probably hard for other companies to compete with Foxconn's bid per device and the infrastructure they have in place.
No movement since the last update......anyone else in the same boat? Delivery of 9/25

So UPS says it will be delivered tomorrow, Apple said it would be delivered on Friday. Should I get my hopes up for tomorrow or not? My phone is half way to KY now.

Foxconn has one in Brazil too, but I'm not sure if they are producing iPhones and iPads or just parts.
