Well, I imagine that those of us with 9/25 delivery dates will be seeing our phones start moving closer to home today. Looking forward to moving on!

Same here. I'll be at my UPS facility tomorrow when they open, then off to the Apple Store to grab AppleCare+ because I like to be naked.

Bleh... Still sitting in Louisville since 9 am yesterday... There was a flight to Toronto today morning... I was hoping it would be on it... No such luck... :(

Yay, I finally got the available for pick up message!!!!! I'm going to go pick it up before work :).

I was getting worried because I wasn't seekng anything after the arrival and departure in Houston last night. I know Houston traffic can be bad, but I know it doesn't take 9 hours to get from one side of the city to the other!

Good luck everyone!

Waitin', just like the rest of y'all.

Will just be happy to see movement today and hold them to their promise of tomorrow's delivery date.

For what it's worth, I ordered a leather case as well. It, too, has been sitting in KY since yesterday morning.

Meh!

Finally! I was originally scheduled for 9/23, but it for days said that I would have early delivery of 9/22. Then yesterday I was late getting my import scan so it sat in Louisville for awhile.

Stafford, TX, United States 09/24/2014

That's exactly where mine will end up before being delivered (and where my monitor is sitting now). At least I know the route it will take and what to expect.

I think it was completely random. I never called to get upgraded shipping or a free phone case (my luck never works that way) and I still somehow managed to get Saver. Granted, my Saver means I still don't have my phone (it is out for delivery today) but it was supposed to be here Monday until I got Shanghai'd.

From what I gathered reading the many pages here, it seemed to be completely random. I didn't call or anything either (don't really care for the leather case, already have an AppleTV, and hate Beats headphones). It's just odd that Apple would ship some a certain way and others another way. I'm sure they have their reasons though.

Some of us have been there for more than 30hrs... Not to say you don't have a right to be upset. I'm pretty sure you'll probably move along sooner than some of us 2nd tier folks...

It's funny, I called my local hub yesterday to find out if I could have it held there and they told me I could, but that it doesn't allow pickups until 5:30pm. I would have gotten it delivered to my house hours ago by then.

So I'll be waiting for the delivery truck tomorrow, it seems. ;)

Now I'm slightly worried that 9/25 will get pushed back...

Nah. We'll see a whole bunch of phones start moving later this morning and into the afternoon. :)

woohooo...both phones out for delivery today...its been a blast hanging with you guys and I will stop in to make sure everyone got their phones...did any one get a import scan after 6pm last night??

Don't tell me that! I'm waiting until about 8 am and if I don't see any status change by then I am changing to Will Call and hope to pick up at 9am tomorrow- you are scaring me now with this 5:30pm mess!

Finally my endeavor here is coming towards an end as my phone is in local facilities and should be delivered today (I'm 99.9999999% confident). Thanks for everyone who participated in this thread and provided insights and crowdsourced information for this.

That said, I do want to post my full UPS tracking for others who might benefits from this and a few summaries too. Of course different shipments might follow a different path but some details remain the same.

Feel free to link this post to anyone who has questions regarding the process or to calm someone down who's freaking out about their phones. I've dug into this way too much but I don't want to leave it to waste!

PS: You can use www.flightaware.com to track the flight your phone is in. Usually the departure scan shows up some 10-15 minutes after the plane take off but the timestamp will be some 10 minutes prior to the take off itself.

A few points:

1) Looks like the shipment is being routed to Osaka because of a particular custom incident in China. They were holding up the package over the weekend for further security scanning and no planes departed over the weekend. Also, don't worry about the double departure scan in Shanghai. Some people get that and it's nothing to worry about.

2) Import Scan in Louisville is extremely important as without that, your shipment will NOT leave UPS Worldport because it is prohibited by US Government. If the US Customs system got clogged due to sheer volume of products needed to be scanned or down then you have to wait. This is out of Apple/UPS control. This slowdown happened with my shipment. There were 4-5 planes from Anchorage to Louisville on Monday and looks like only people who got on the first plane that arrived in Louisville managed to be import scanned. These people received their phones on Tuesday 9/22.

3) After Import Scan, everything moves extremely quickly. As indicated by two of UPS employees who posted here, upon passing Customs, it should get on a plane the same day to your nearest airport. If you live in smaller states without big airports such as Rhode Island, expect your shipment to be routed to the closest airport. My phone goes through Windsor Locks, CT. I've also seen Boston, MA there on previous packages.

4) As long as your phones departed Louisville (after import scans of course), I'm fairly sure you will get it the next day as every air shipments is considered priority and even if they get in to your local facilities last, the trucks will not leave without air shipments. My phone arrived at my local facilities around 5am but I have seen in the past my next day air shipment arrived at 6am and being put to truck within the hour.

5) UPS (and Fedex) has gotten this whole shipping thing down to a science. They know what they're doing. There are, however, factors that they can't anticipate (e.g. Weather, Customs) but once you clear customs, it's back to their tried and true process and it'll move very quickly.

I have one of the 5:20PM phones that was scheduled for 9/25 but pushed out to 9/26. Well, once UPS99 landed this morning my date was pulled back in to 9/25 again. UPS99 is flying to KY right now.

My other phone in KY passed the 24 hour mark waiting for an import scan at 1:34AM last night. Still scheduled for 9/25 delivery.

I just woke up to find my phone made it from Anchorage to Louisville to Milwaukee since last night. Left Milwaukee about 15 minutes ago. I'm a little over an hour from Milwaukee so I think it's gonna make it in time for me to pick up at 8:30!

Just woke up to find out my phone is still sitting in Louisville for over 29 hours. Still waiting for an import scan.

Planes came in last night and already got import scans and are out for delivery today. This is just pure BS. I'm sorry, Apple is to blame totally for this. They totally dropped the ball. They should have sent all shipments Express Saver, not this bs expedited service. So some of us have to get thrown off to the side.

I'm so pissed off this morning :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

Nah I am not upset... Just impatient... :p

Getting upset over such trivial matters is really unhealthy... ;)

Call UPS and find out when your local hub allows people to pick their stuff up. Bear in mind that my "local" hub is two small towns away in South Texas so unless you live in the country like me I doubt that you're going to have the same issue. ;)

Just a question in case you have any info... Do shipments destined for Canada also have to go through the import scan...?
