This is my theory. Again it's a theory.

The 9/25 packages never left the container they came from China on. Instead, they all got put to a holding area as-is. Maybe even the area they stored all the 9/19 iPhones that they were holding last week.

Okay that I could potentially see... assuming they presorted expedited and saver before loading the containers onto the plane in my case Korea.. so yes then the labor cost drops significantly, and actually makes sense from the "pre-us" side (since my phone even at this time, hasn't officially entered the US... as it hasnt been imported) and staying happy with customs on that respect. Still storage costs, but fractions of a penny per package.

Mine got an import scan in Louisville at 12:22 pm. When can I expect it to leave Louisville for Delivery 9/25 in Springfield, MO? After 3 days in China and 2 days in Korea, I'm pretty ecstatic it finally made it to KY!

Finally

I am on the phone currently w/ an Apple rep to add AppleCare to my other phone, and casually mentioned this fiasco w/ UPS and how many of our phones sat in China for 3 days before sitting in KY for almost 2 days with no movement. She listened patiently, put me on hold for a moment, then came back saying it was a UPS issue. She said Apple ships all phones out with the most expedited shipping method possible to "get to customers as soon as possible."

I'm not sure who's to blame, but it sure does sound like Apple is blaming UPS and UPS is blaming Apple.

I'm just glad I got my @#& import scan today, so hopefully my other phone gets here tomorrow!

Got my phone from UPS center this morning (will call). Notice it said 'out for delivery', even though they had already confirmed the will call and I picked it up about 20 minutes after it said out for delivery. I attached an image with the tracking path for anyone who would like to see.

Okay…if I'm now "imported" and waiting for it to go from Louisville to Cleveland…how do I figure out which flight to track?

this is such faking *********, my phone has been sitting in KY for almost 2 days???!!! wtf, apple? wtf, ups? there is no reason why the hell shouldn't have been delivered yesterday or monday.

how did people that ordered after I did get their phones earlier? and the people who just left korea have the same delivery date as I do? bs

I do understand logistical delays, but this is way over the top. Apple dropped the ball big time, on pre-orders and with this stupid expedited/saver shipping ********.

Its pretty clear UPS is "holding" 9/25 packages, either bc they can't get their **** together or bc Apple didn't pay for ALL phones to get where they are going quickly. The fact some haven't even left the Asian continent yet and have the same delivery date as I do, is evidence that UPS COULD have delivered the 9/25 batch either Mon or Tues.

Either way, its total faking ********, I'm paying exactly the same amount and in some cases got my order in before others. And before you say "hey you should be lucky it was Oct.1-6 originally, blahblah"...yeah well the reality of it is that if Apple didn't have their head up its ass all these orders SHOULD have been included in the original 9/19 shipment.

Your telling me! Mine is STILL Preparing for shipment, though the case is delivering today. I called yesterday and explained that I know of MANY people receiving their shipments this week who also have October 1 to October 6 estimated delivery dates. Their excuse is that each order to order is difference and I have to be patient. I believe her exact words were "There could have been a million people who ordered between you and them and thats why they're getting theirs sooner even though you have same estimated delivery date". I still think something is wrong with my order - It has been "Preparing for Shipment" for a full week now. My patience is gone.

I'm sure from Apple's perspective that is true. I'm sure they signed a bulk shipment agreement with UPS.. that conveniently didn't specify how the phones would get there.. just that Apple would give a defined date. (edit: probably "1 week from tendering delivery" most likely)

You're right of course, I'm just getting tired of seeing all of these people thinking that THEY are so special that UPS would go out of their way to deliver their phone a day or two early when they process hundreds of thousands of orders per day.

STILL NO IMPORT SCAN!!

I'm wondering if they're prioritizing it by flights out of Louisville, as someone suggested before.
