I wouldn't necessarily believe that. It could happen, but I was told by a UPS CSR that the "by 3:00PM" is for commercial deliveries only (not residential.)
Out for Delivery, but End of Day.
It has been real folks. This is the first Macrumors thread I've ever seen that was not full of whiny 13 year olds that don't know how their devices work.

Like everyone else, mine is sitting in KY with no import scan and an ETA of today still. I don't believe it.
Sorry to see this. This must legendary-suck to wait all this time, then on "the day", to get jammed like this. Unfortunately, computers do all the tracking work and apparently no truck has that package listed in their inventory, so it removed the out for delivery status. That's my guess anyways, meaning they are going to have to search for it by hand. Good luck to you.
Yeah thanks. I hope it gets sorted out somehow. I called UPS to voice my concern and to figure out what's going on because it still doesn't say "Out for Delivery." My local UPS center is supposed to call in an hour to work it out with me or whatever.
I hope it was just placed on the wrong truck and it wasn't stolen, as techedude suggested.
Just picked up my 6+ from the local UPS hub. Phone was sent with my wife's name, but UPS gave me no difficulty whatsoever in picking it up. Now if they could just locate my Apple black leather case, I'd be a really happy guy!

It was nice being on this journey with you all. I'm from TEAM520 and my silver iPhone 6 is sitting at UPS confirmed for my pick up later today. My original estimate purchasing from Apple online was Oct 2-7 so I'm a happy man!

Yeah they did. When all is said and done and I receive my iPhone, I will be filing a complaint with UPS and voicing my concern with Apple. Although I doubt that would do anything anyways.
What is UPS going to do? Spray my next delivery with perfume?
I actually ordered a case online from Apple, but after a week of "ships in 5-7 days", I cancelled the case when I saw that they had a ton of them in stock in the Apple Store and ordered in-store pickup. I waited until Tuesday to pick it up because I knew it would be a zoo with iPhone buyers and, even after 4 days, it was STILL a zoo. Despite the clusterf**k that was this pre-order/delivery, it was still better than dealing with the psycho crowds at the store.
Just picked up my space gray, 128gb, 6+ from ups customer center in Fort Worth! So glad I didn't have to wait at the house.
Well, despite the stress of seeing it listed as both "Returned to sender" and "on hold for pickup" at 5:30 this morning (And seriously, the green bar at the top of the status will swap between one or the other every time I refresh the page), both 1-800-PICK UPS and the online chat support have confirmed that my package is indeed at the local hub for pickup. I'm about to head out to grab it, so I guess we'll see...
Ordered in the first few minutes that pre-orders went live. Phone is here ready to be picked up at the ups center. Even without getting the phone on launch day, I'm happy I avoided lines and such. Getting the phone early is a nice bonus.
