Just got my iPhone 6+ and there is a big ass white spot in the middle of the screen. Pretty pissed! Take a 2 hour round trip for a replacement is not what I wanted to do after this whole b/s with everything else

I thought I read somewhere that it went permanently away after a bit of use. Seems like an unusually higher number of f-ed up display reports this time around.

I agree, for important deliveries like this I am never doing that again. From now on it's pickup at the customer center. Makes things so much easier and I didn't need to take time off work.

Fedex would never allow me to hold for pickup on Apple products. They were adamant that they had to make one delivery attempt before they would hold it at their distribution center. Since my office is about 2 miles from the Fedex center, I'd just let them make the attempt and then go pick it up after work. A little frustrating since I could have just waltzed over there before work or at lunch and grabbed the package. I'm glad this shipment was sent UPS. Pickup was so easy.

Thanks. I am going to Apple today to get AppleCare+ (couldn't add to cart on 9/12) and if they don't have one I will have them ship one with my CC #.

Yeah check with the store first. Maybe you'll luck out and they'll have it in stock.

And request if they can ship one to you. You may have to ask about it in order to get it.

I believe something like this happened before. People were having yellow tinted spots. Apparently the "adhesive" didn't settle 100% yet and after a few days it went away forever. Although the problem here might be something else.

Have you done that before? Will the truck return back to the hub before closing time?

Yep. Personally, I'm not so anal about this sort of thing. As long it doesn't have a giant hot pink stuck pixel or something obvious when you turn it on, I don't worry about it. No magnifying glass, looking at pixels, for me ;)

:( That stinks!!!! Sorry Techedude! Apple is having tons of screen problems with dead pixels, filter holes and artifacts this year it seems. WTF. I wonder what mine will look like... If it's bad, I might stop preordering and wait to buy until they have their quality control processes under control.

did everyone here get there phones?? or is there a group stuck in Louisville waiting for a customs import scan?

Ha nope not everyone.

I'm still waiting on mine... But my situation is a bit different.
It was Out for Delivery yesterday. Waited all day for it. Nothing.
This morning the "OFD" note from yesterday disappeared.
Now it's OFD for today.

Wow, that stinks! Sorry about that Techie. :(

That totally sucks, TD. I hope you have better luck getting a replacement than I did. I got a 6+ 128 SG, so there is zero stock. Apple said I have to do all of the legwork to find a replacement (i.e., stalk the store every day at opening until they get a shipment with the right phone). It's a 2 hour round trip for me too and we have, you know, JOBS! How the hell does it fall on us to find a functioning phone?

I also have the 128GB Space Gray 6+ AT&T. I'm sure it's going to be a pain for a replacement. I'm going to at least make a case so its easy to swap when it's time

Brief status update:

Phone is gorgeous (6+ 128gb Space Gray). Pickup was a breeze.

Only issue is one dead pixel that I will worry about down the road. Not sending it back and waiting without a phone for it. I will just wait until they have enough supply to go in and do a straight exchange. Thankfully the pixel is top left and not really "in the way."

Will report back later.

I would call AppleCare and let them know that you have this issue, even though you will address it later. Explain that you require a working phone in the short term–you can't deal with waiting for another one to ship from China, but will definitely need to have it fixed when inventory at Apple Stores even out and "things settle down/aren't so hectic/etc" for you. This way, it is in their notes that you did have this issue out of the box.

definitely slowed down in this thread from yesterday...we where cranking out 20 to 30 pages a day

Still early AM here on the west coast. My local UPS CC doesn't even open until 10AM–which is where I'll be for pickup.

Good on ya… It's harder for them to say "no" to you when stock does come in if you have a case number on file.

Do you mind taking a pic so we know what to watch for when we check our iPhones for any flaws or defects? Sorry that it happened to you. Thanks.

Allegedly, stores are supposed to hold back a percentage of phones of all models to serve as defect replacements. Allegedly.

Ah. At last. There were a few tense minutes when they couldn't find my phone at pick up, but they DID find it. Iphone 6+, AT&T, 128gb Space grey, in my hands and it's black leather case, syncing right now. It's been an adventure folks, and thanks to every one who made this fun and put up with my frustrated bitching. It's been a long, rough week WITHOUT the phone stress, so I appreciate the fact that there was some small space here where I could vent a little of that frustration. To those still waiting, good luck, and may you get your phones safe and sound!
