Swung by one of our Apple stores about an hour ago and there's a huge line of people waiting. I looked at the iStock website in the morning and a lot of options showed as available (not the one I wanted tho). I just checked it again and there seems to have been no change. With the volume of people in the store at the time I swung by alone (not to mention others who I'm sure are rigorously checking), that surely would have been enough to cause some movement on the iStock website. Even though iStock shows items available, apples website doesn't indicate store pick up options. Not sure how other people have had success through that iStock website but seems flaky from my opinion. Kuddos to those who have lucked out. This sucks but I'll keep waiting until I see some movement on my pre-order and will hopefully have it first week of October. Waiting is the worst but i'd rather know it's coming than deal with calling stores, waiting at stores, refreshing websites every 10 seconds, etc. hoping for an opportunity :-/

istock is correct, from what i've seen. if it doesn't show availability in the normal apple purchase flow, use the IUP link, as there's inventory there. i made a reservation yesterday the same way.
I‘ve read an article this morning saying that all apple stores in the US will get every color and configuration in stock at Oct.8 because a HUGE freight will arrive.
I'm not sure if we'll get our phone before that date. We pre-odered on the first day and had to wait for a MONTH????? Two weeks of processing WTH!!!

Gonna have to keep waiting I bet...I ordered early AM 9/9 and haven't had any action whatsoever.
I'm super pissed right now, i'm happy for you, but is unacceptable a person with 5-11 have PFS first than 04-10.
I totally agree and sympathize.
Apple really took a huge crap on pre-orders this time. Think they got greedy after Samsung's exploding Note 7s and intentionally launched iPhone 7 in 30 countries to grab more market share, even though they didn't have inventory. They could barely manage 10 countries in the first launch wave in the previous years.
For future I'd say if you can't get the device on launch day. Do in store reserve.
Once dates slipped I said forget. Was able to reserve a Gold 128GB 7 Plus for my wife Sunday and a 256GB matte black 7 plus for me after.
This is the same each and every year.
Apple does not hold up all stock until pre orders are fulfilled.

Ordered on 9/10. First iPhone. Wasn't originally going to get it (hence ordering on the 10th rather than the 9th), but I wanted to try something new. Decided to preorder to get the phone in a timely fashion. HAH. Ordered a 32GB Matte Black iPhone 7. It's my first iPhone, and hey I use a bunch of cloud storage so 32GB is enough. Also that Canadian dollar.
Got a shipping date of Oct 4th - Oct 11th. Was initially bummed, and checked the /r/apple subreddit for their shipping thread. I read reports of people getting them shipped earlier than listed last year, which gave me hope. Here I am, on the 13th day of processing with no movement whatsoever. The homescreen icon I added to my current phone taunts me with a lack of progress and my desperation causes me to repeatedly refresh the page every hour. How is this acceptable? Apple Stores are constantly being refreshed and we're sitting here twiddling our thumbs hoping Apple-senpai notices us.
Hence my username, as this is a processing limbo.
Really hoping to see change tomorrow, as the original receipt says ships in 2-3 weeks. Tomorrow will be the end of week two. Incredibly frustrated.

My phone finally shipped today! Scheduled delivery of 9/27. Original delivery of 10/5. Ordered at 10:15 AM on 9/9. Hopefully this is good news and the rest of you get yours soon!

Just reserved the exact phone I preordered. Picking it up at 10am tomorrow, about an hour away. Canceled my processing HELL order. Worst preorder ever. See you all in a year or two

My advice is to check istock website to see if your local Apple Store has it in the morning and then hourly after because that's how I got my model. I had preordered and it switched from processing to preparing to shipment back and forth and I was going crazy. Luckily I was able to nab the last model at the store. Canceled my preorder immediately.
What iPhone did you order?
I found the exact phone I pre-ordered at a local Apple Store thanks to iStockNow, but the Apple reservation page would NOT let me reserve it, I kept getting an error. And 20 minutes later it was out of stock.
The hell with this, I'm frustrated beyond belief, and still have a 10/4-10/10 delivery date.
