nissan.gtp said:great shot ! are you willing to share a copy (for my desktop ?)
I just changed my desktop image and the thumbnail links to a 2560x1660 screen cap. I took the photo at the Corkscrew near the end of last weekend's ALMS race at Laguna Seca. The 66 car won the race after leading for most of it. Shot using a Nikon D700 with a Nikkor 300 f2.8 AF-S plus TC14E teleconverter supported on a monopod: 1/1250 @ f4 and 800 ISO with auto white balance and spot metering.
Mine for mid October

You could read through the thread and you'll find all the answers you need.
Its called geektools. You can get scripts to display the time, weather, CPU monitor, and a bunch of other stuff on your desktop. And you can download icons online to replace default icons.
oh nos, i didn't read every word of a desktop picture thread....omg, now someone has to create one extra post in what will be a 20+ page thread anyway, OMG
calm down broski. don't take the internet so seriously.
or you could just do a simple search...
really it's not that hard..
Here is mine for October![]()
Could you please link that wallpaper for us? Highest res possible? And whats that thing running instead of your dock? (And what seems to be iTunes on the side?) Love the minimalist look and seems pretty functional too.
Thanks!
clock on desktop revealed no results.
date & desktop got me nothing either
so guess what i did?
I asked people on a message board how they got it up, since you know, on message boards you type responses, ask questions, make comments, etc.
Guess the desktop picture thread moves too fast for my post to be cluttering it up with a question.![]()
Link to your firefox and syspref icons please.
finally there is a way to make the menubar black on SL. now if only silk worked it would be perfect. PM if you want the link to the black menubar instructions. (coolest part is the apple icon in the upper left).
Here is another for Halloween. Had to dig this one out. Taken about this time of year in 2006, Sedona, Arizona. I wish I had taken it in horizontal composition instead of vertical..oh well...
had to scale this down, too large to attach..
Would the same trick work on regular Leopard?
Cheers.
Here, let me quote you on....
"Please use PM next time. thank you."
or if you simply click the "1st" page of this thread and read the "1st" post it clearly states:
"Many members here will either be displaying their cover art using CoverSutra or Bowtie. In addition, the members with a lot of text information on their desktops are using the Geektool preference pane. Sweet Geektool scripts can be found here!"
so instead of annoying many members here with yet another "what screensaver clock is that?" or "How do you get a clock on your desktop?" question, do a search please.
