Have any of you tried running vmware fusion with a vista VM? Do you get the constant system lockups every 5 seconds like I saw with the last OCZ ssd I tried?
I'm running Vista, XP, and Windows 7, the speed in fusion is unreal and I have had no lockups.

I installed mine as follows;
1. Took it out of the box,
2. put it in my MBPro (late 08),
3. booted off the install CD,
4. selected Disk Utility from the top menu,
5. deleted the current partition and created a GUID one,
6. did a fresh install of Mac OS
7. when it re-booted I selected restore from time machine.
8. run Software update to get the latest OS and updates.
Job done in under 2 hours.
I initially tried Carbon Copy via an eSATA enclosure but it crashed my MBP twice and I started to worry. The method above worked without incident.
I DO NOT have a bootcamp partition, I just use a VM Fusion machine within OSX.
So would you guys purchase the 250GB Vertex (775$ at newegg) over the 160GB Intel drive? (725$) I've had each drive in my shopping cart at newegg so many times.. I just can't decide!
i've decided to get the 250GB Vertex (if i can find one). i was torn between it and the equivalent (same guts) Super Talent UltraDrive ME.
this newegg reviewer sums up nicely why i'm going with OCZ:

Worthy X-25m Replacement But Without OCZ's Support/Community

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: It uses the new Indilinx controller and is more or less a cheaper version of the Vertex. I received one with the 1275 firmware and can report there is no stuttering. Works in OS X if that's a concern. This drive was purchased as a replacement for an x-25m due to size constraints and the day to day difference is barely even noticeable so good marks for that.
Cons: You're getting a fast drive make no mistake about it. But this is Supertalent not OCZ so what you're giving up with the price differential is the rate at which you receive firmware updates (if they come out) and an actual support community.
At the time of writing (4/22), the Vertex is on firmware revision 1370 with TRIM support and it has been for at least 2 weeks already.
Other Thoughts: Supertalent, get off your butts and release firmware updates at a reasonable rate.

Having similar issues with availability at this end (UK).
Any plausible alternatives?
newegg finally has them in stock, but i refuse to get scalped the $949 they're asking.
there are alternatives that have the same guts (ie: Indilinx Barefoot controller) as the Vertex: Supertalent UltraDrive ME, G.Skill Falcon, and some other one whose name escapes me (Foto Fast something-or-other?).
i was just hoping to get an OCZ because they seem to have the best user community and release new firmware fastest.
