I can't use it because it won't sync to Google Calendar. Even if it was able to sync to Outlook.com's calendars I'd be happy. I need to be able to sync calendars between Mac Mini, Macbook, iPhone and iPad.

Outlook on my Macs syncs fine in both directions with Google Calendar and out to my Android phone, iPad and Windows tablet.

Sorry if I sound skeptical over this claim of yours. But after months of research on this very topic I've yet to find a way to do this, other than perhaps having a Microsoft Exchange account with a provider of such services. But that's not a Google Calendar sync solution.

Yes, I switched to Microsoft's hosted Exchange Online a few months ago. I'll be interested to see if Google's announcement affects that: "Almost two years ago, we announced that we ended support for Google Calendar Sync. Starting on August 1, 2014, this app will no longer sync events between your Google Calendar and Microsoft Outlook Calendar. "

Before Exchange Online, I used another provider's hosted IMAP service. I forget how I worked the sync, but I think I had Outlook syncing with Apple Calendar on the two Macs, with Calendar then syncing to Google Calendar.
