With 16 cores you could edit several video-projects simultaneously!
If only the human brain had 16 cores.
And you would need 32 hands.
That´s 320 fingers.

I bet the next Mac Pro will be a Dual Core 2.0ghz that costs $4,000
I'm sure it will be dual 1.8ghz and cost $5,000 with a 6Gb memory limit and apple will be returning to the days of not including a keyboard and mouse at the same time

I just ordered a 16 core 2.93 today:
The virtue of virtual cores.
The new Intel Xeon “Nehalem” processors support Hyper-Threading, which allows two threads to run simultaneously on each core. So an 8-core Mac Pro presents 16 virtual cores that are recognized by Mac OS X. Performance is enhanced because Hyper-Threading enables the processor to take better advantage of the execution resources available in each core.
Yep. Consider the 16-core Mac Pro Waiting Club closed as of today.
so activity monitor will show 16-cores??? imagine having that on your screen!! i have my 2-core machine in the bottom right hand corner.. if i had EIGHT TIMES that many cores it would take up half the blippin screen!!!
No I doubt it. The 8-Core models just show one big processor.
the actual hard drive should be in the next mac pro gen and the solid state drive should be here
