I am looking forward to 2.0.1, there are enough glitches with 2.0 to warrant it, but I am not saying that Apple screwed up with 2.0, they simply made a few understandable mistakes.

But to the OP, how did this thread get an 'Official' title? Or did you just give it that title yourself, which would make it not Official. I hate it when people call things official here when they clearly aren't.

wow I guess I consider myself pretty luck, I have only had to restart safari once because it froze...and thats about it.

no app crashes, txting is up to par and hardware wise, my phone is great!:apple:

Well, if you must know. I formulated on official request to Steve Jobs. He flew in and we had a business meeting about it. My wife prepared a wonderful dinner of filet mignon. After discussing the issue in great detail, we decided that I could in fact create the official thread regarding the hopes and dreams of 2.0.1.

The rumored memory leak is becoming a nuisance. Every few days apps begin crashing on launch, Safari does strange things (today it couldn't decide if the screen was portrait or landscape when loading a page even though I was holding the phone perfectly still), and the volume indicator randomly decided to present itself. I turned the phone totally off and then on and all is well.

Mine seems to be working fairly well with only minor lag issues with sms and only 2 crashes.

So I am wondering, the ones that are having issues, would this have anything to do with which version of 2.0 that you have (5A345 or 5A347) and/or if you are running the 2.0 that was released early (before the official iTunes update release) on a 1st gen iPhone as opposed to the official release or the version on iPhone 3G?

Just curious since not everyone is having as extreme of an issue with 2.0 as others (though in general it's obvious 2.0 still needs to be updated.)

I've had similar issues as reported by others in this thread. I'm sure Apple will have a fix out sooner than later.

yeah, safari crashing like crazy, lots of youtube vidoes won't play, websites not loading, apps (3rd party and not) crashing all over the place....

i understand that some of this stuff is normal in a .0 release, but still, it seems a little rushed out the door....

And can you guys verify anything I asked about in my post right above yours? Which version of 2.0 are you running? Pre-release version or official version? 1st gen iPhone or iPhone 3G?

I just want to see if there is a pattern here with the extremity of this issue.

official 2.0 as delivered with new 3G. not sure of the build number, can check that later.

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones too that haven't had any problems with their 3G phone or 2.0. Battery life is a little questionable for me, but that's about it. What I'm really looking forward to is that push notification service for AIM and whatever else would be compatible with it. (Twitter?)

If you have the official 2.0 as delivered with the new 3G and it was bought within the first few days, then it is most likely build 5A345. You should restore your phone which will download and install build 5A347 and most (but not all) of your problems will be solved.

If people on the 1st gen iPhone jumped the gun and downloaded the unofficial 2.0 before iTunes pushed it out, then you have build 5A347 that was only intended for the iPhone 3G and you will be experiencing way more problems than anyone (as there are specific things related to the GPS and 3G in that build that will conflict and slow down your 1st gen iPhone.)

just to edit this the "lots of youtube videos wont play" only 10,000 videos have been converted be playable on the iphone/ipod touch thats the reason some videos arent playable not the 2.0 release.

I have 2.0 to be more stable then I thought it would be

With the addition of apps and other features, did people really expect it to be anywhere near mistake free?

I had such low expectations and thought we would have MobileMe type problems but I really am not outside of a few apps crashing

I thought there would be less problems. By less I mean when I receive a call I am straight sick of it dropping and the phone freezing. Since I bought my iPhone in October 2007 I had NEVER had to do a hard reset. I've done it more than 5 times this week alone. I even did the whole jail break thing and never experienced these problems.

I doubt there needs to be an official thread, I think the entire website is a nice way of saying we all want it/need it to happen soon. I would also like my service to go back to where it was. Meaning I drop more calls nowadays and have fewer bars in more places. I can't say this is Apple, but it certainly seemed to happen right after my 2.0 update.

yeah, but that doesn't explain why the same video will play sometimes, and then not later.
